Hola Amigos! My name is Carolina, and I'm a food and Wine passionate/tour guide :) I have a journalism mayor, but after landing my first job in a vineyard, I fell in love with it and decided to dedicate 100 per cent to be an ambassador for Chilean wines and gastronomy. I have worked in vineyards of the most important wine valleys of central Chile, as well as the top restaurants of Santiago, while educating myself as much as posible. My passion for travelling, food and different cultures, led me to start guiding for an American company. This job gave me a fantastic opportunity to meet new friends all the time, while revisiting the vineyards and seeing what's new to taste. I'm a history and politics passionate too, specially Andean cultures, so I would love to take you not just on wine and culinary tours, but also tell you as much as possible about our ancestors and all their legacy. And if that can be done with a glass of wine in our hands, why not? :) We can do walking tours if you want, but if you need a car, I have the perfect van and driver: my wonderful husband! He's a tour guide too, and trust me, we make the best team. Since I enjoy my work so much, I want you to learn just as much as have fun. Overview of your Santiago tour
If you love full bodied reds, and enjoy a good Cab Sauv and want to learn more about Carmenere, please join me in this trip through our countryside, right outside Santiago, to explore the perfect mix between Tradition and Quality. Maipo valley is worldwide famous for the quality of its red wines, most of them Bordeaux varieties that found in the piedmont of the Andes the perfect terroir to show their best expression. Cab Sauvs, Merlot, Petit verdot, Cab Francs and Carmenere are the absolute stars here, but don't be surprised if we find a good Chardonay or Pinot from the area, our winemakers loves to push things to the limits, with amazing results. We will visit 3 vineyards, trying to go from really traditional to really modern, plus lunch in another Bodega. NOTE: If there's anything you want to add or change, please feel free to message me so we can arrange this tour as you wish. -For bigger groups, we can arrange a larger van

We visited 2 boutique wineries in the Maipo Valley in Santiago. It was fun to see how small wineries compete for a place in the mammoth wineries in this area. Unique ideas, from planting to storing and marketing their small batches!! Carolina O and her husband Pablo were excellent tour guides, picking the stops and taking great care of us. We loved our lunch at a fabulous winery Santa Rita with its interesting museum of Chile's history. It was a great add to our visit.

Carolina gave us a fabulous tour of Maipo wine valley. She worked with us to create an itinerary that perfectly met our needs. She was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and culture of Chile. She was fun to be with and made the day a perfect one. We have done wine tours in Bordeaux, the Loire Valley, the Douro Valley, Oregon, and other amazing wine regions throughout the world...and this was one of the best.

If you like red wine and and want to learn about the wine culture here in Chile, this is the tour for you. From the Carmenere to the wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon you will get a sampling of the best wines the Maipo Valley and Chile have to offer. Our wonderful host Carolina took us to 3 wineries in the Maipo region, as a class 2 sommelier her insights are a great way to experience this tour. Take the wine tour and enjoy the tastings offered after. If you appreciate wine, you love this tour.

We highly recommend joining Carolina on her tour of the Maipo valley. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting small family-owned wineries, as well as the middle and larger sized operations. It was a great opportunity to see first-hand how the wine was made at each location and taste the differences between them. Carolina made the trip informative and stress-free.
