Overview of your Santiago tour
Santiago is Chile's capital city, founded in 1541 by Pedro de Valdivia, a Spanish soldier who came from Cuzco It's also the country's political financial centre. It's surrounded by 2 mountains and a river that crosses the Valley from The Andes into the Pacific Ocean. Most of its water comes from the glaciers located more than 4, 000 meters (13, 123 feet) above sea level. On this tour, you'll discover that Santiago is divided in 2. One of these parts is the old town, where you'll find the city's oldest churches, centuries-old buildings and the Santa Lucia & San Cristóbal hills, from where you are to enjoy a 360° view of Santiago. The other is the modern part of the city, where you can find high-rise glass buildings, shopping centers, five-star hotels and a wide variety of restaurants with all kinds of food. While visiting Chile, you cannot miss trying our seafood, fish (many of which we export) or meats paired with a glass of Chilean wine, from which maybe our famous variety Carmenere is a good option!

·Our tour will begin at either your hotel or a place where we agree on. I try to be very flexible. ·At first we'll go back into Santiago's origins & the reason why it was named after the apostle Santiago (Saint James), who's also the patron saint of Spain. ·Next we'll visit beautiful neoclassical buildings located at the old town, such as: -The Metropolitan Cathedral -The former Palace of the Royal Court, now the National Historical Museum. -The Santiago Post Office where Governor Pedro de Valdivia once lived. -The Municipality of Santiago. ·After covering these highlights, we'll venture onto the San Cristóbal Santa Lucia hills, both with incredible views. Here we'll take a funicular to reach the top of San Cristóbal. ·Later, we'll be able to stop by a local restaurant where you'll get to taste our Chilean food. ·We'll then visit the new part of the city, where you'll be surprised by its modern structure. ·We'll finish our experience back at your hotel or some nearby place you might be interested in.
