When you visit Santiago, no doubt you'll tour the nearby wineries of Maipo Valley and Casablanca Wine Valley. Concha y Toro may be the biggest, but it is certainly not the only producer of fine wines. When you think of Chilean wine, the names Viña Santa Rita , Viña Perez Cruz in Maipo Valley and Veramonte , Emiliana, Casas del Bosque in Casablanca Valley, but there are many, many more! Some of the wonderful varities of Chilean wine include Riesling, Semillón, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Pinot Noir, Carmenère, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Verdot, Viogner, Gewürztraminer and others. Not all of the wineries are old and established enterprises. A number of small, boutique wineries are gaining recognition
My wife and I had a great day with Gabriel. We went to 2 really great wineries and was a lot of fun.
After a 1 1/2 hr ride in Gabriel’s comfortable vehicle, we arrived at the first winery. Gabriel was always very prompt, had water for us, and was very concerned with our comfort. During the drive he gave us a commentary on Santiago and Chilean history of which he is very knowledgeable A winery tour guide took us into the vineyard to explain how they use technology to determine irrigation and harvesting. We drove a short distance to a second much larger operation. There we had lunch and toured the property and production facilities. We had tastings at each winery. Gabriel had us back to our hotel exactly on time despite challenging traffic conditions. We thoroughly enjoyed the day with Gabriel and highly recommend him.
Gabriel was prompt and courteous. His vehicle was immaculate. He gave us a brief history of the area and was knowledgeable about many of the plants in the area. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with us and went out of his way to accommodate a special request. We highly recommend him as a guide while visiting Santiago.
Gabriel was a great guide and organized a great day of wine tasting for me and my husband. His associate Simone was very knowledgeable about the history of Chilean Wine and made the day very easy and comfortable for us. Gabriel was also really helpful answering questions and giving recommendations for places to stay in Santiago. We had a great day and would highly recommend Gabriel and Simone to anyone visiting Santiago.
We were looking for something to do between our arrival at Valparaiso in the morning and our flight out of Santiago that night. This tour with Gabriel was ideal. He was a good communicator and was on time at the cruise terminal. The drive was long, but that was to be expected. He chose a small boutique winery which was lovely. Next we drove to Portillo where we had a tasty lunch overlooking the Lake of the Inca. We were dropped off at the airport right as check in for our flight became available.
We went on 2 wine tours with Gabriel, he was perfect for what we were looking for in a wine tour. We own a small winery in the US. We wanted to see small wineries like ours. He arranged for us to connect with some small wineries. We got to meet the owners, walk in the vineyards and hear there stories. We also were able to do some barrel tasting with a wine maker. He allowed us access to wineries we would have never been able to connect with, with out Gabriel's expertise. We enjoyed our tour and our guide
The itinerary, can be coming from the airport, or from the hotel or from any address that the passenger requires, includes this wine tour, it can be visiting 2 vineyards in the Maipo Valley (Santiago), or in the Casablanca Valley, at 72 Kilometers of Santiago, the visits have different times in the morning as in the afternoon, the wine tours are guided in each vineyard by guides specializing in the study of wine. In the event that the passenger wishes to visit a boutique vineyard, which is of interest to him, the visit to the planned vineyard can be changed.
