Andean Ride: Views and Local Encounters

Really a phenomenal experience. I didnt expect it to be a serious ride but it was. I have no riding experience so I think anyone can do it. The whole time you are surrounded by a beautiful landscape. I went in early April and most of the time it was really sunny so I was grateful for long sleeves. Really kind and knowledgeable tour guide who has other tours available to Patagonia and hiking. If youre looking for a truly magical adventure book this.

Joaquin picked me up from my hotel in Santiago and took me to a hidden place away from the city, that I would've never found or been aware of had he not taken me himself, where we get to know a team of equestrians and their horses. He delivered a comprehensive and concise safety briefing before I got on the horse and gave me very relevant indications and advice. We then proceeded to ride the horses through a considerably high hill with astonishing views all around us, including of soaring birds he kept identifying for me. It was an exhilarating experience that I will never forget. At the end he even dropped me off on a different point than that which he picked me up from due to some plans I had, which also was much appreciated.

Joaquin is a very knowledgable guide, we highly recommend his horseback ride. In just a short drive from Santiago you get a chance to see the city from a vastly different perspective and connect with the natural environment of the Andes foothills and beautiful Chilean horses. Joaquin, Orlando, and Max (the stable border collie) were the perfect ride hosts. A great option for an off the beaten path experience in just a half day tour.

We booked at the very last minute and were accommodated in every way from start time to duration of ride. Communication was easy and informative. We wanted to do something outside of the city and this tour did not disappoint.

Joaquin did an excellent job of assuring we had a fun time horseback riding. He was safety-conscious in matching us with a horse appropriate to our skill level. The ride was through beautiful golden hills and we even saw an Andean condor soaring overhead. Afterwards, he provided a delicious spread of Chilean wine, meats, cheeses, and strawberries. Everything about the experience made it one of the top highlights of our 18 day trip. I highly recommend Joaquin as a competent, reliable, fun guide.

We had a tour with me, two 14 year-olds & an 11 year-old; about 30 minutes away from our Santiago Aribnb. We were not experienced with horseback riding at all, but Joaquin taught us the basics of what we needed to know. We felt safe & prepared, plus the horses knew what to do! Joaquin & the horses' owner, Teres, went w/us on the ride with beautiful views. Joaquin takes pride in working with good people who treat their animals & the land well. The type of person and company you feel good about supporting!
