Grüß Gott, I'm Peter. I grew up in eastern Austria and have lived in Salzburg for more than 30 years. This is where my wife and I raised our children, and it is still the place I love to show off. For many years I have driven guests privately around Salzburg and across Austria, Bavaria, Switzerland and northern Italy. That is my strength on a tour: I know the back roads, where to park right next to the sights, the quiet viewpoints, and the hours when the big coaches have already left. You sit back in a comfortable private vehicle and I take care of the rest. My favourite days out: - the Sound of Music places in and around Salzburg - the lakes of the Salzkammergut and the lakeside village of Hallstatt - Berchtesgaden and the Königssee, just across the border in Bavaria - King Ludwig's fairy-tale castles, Neuschwanstein and Linderhof - in November and December, the Advent markets in the lake villages Every tour is private, just your family or friends. I plan the day around you: your pace, your interests, a lunch stop where the locals eat, and pick-up at your hotel or the train station. I work with a small team of local guides and drivers, so if you want a certified city guide for the old town, a second vehicle for a bigger group, or an airport transfer on the same trip, we arrange it together. Send me your dates and ideas, and I will suggest the best way to spend your day. I look forward to showing you my home.

The Sound of Music was filmed in and around Salzburg, and many of the places still look just like the film. In four hours we drive you, privately, to the scenes that matter most, with time for photos at every stop and no big coach crowds. We start at the Mirabell Gardens with the Do-Re-Mi steps and the Pegasus fountain, drive past Nonnberg Abbey, Maria's convent, to the lake view of Leopoldskron Palace, the von Trapp home in the film, and on to the glass gazebo at Hellbrunn Palace. Then we leave the city for the lake district: the green hills and lakes of the opening scenes, and the Basilica of St. Michael in Mondsee where Maria and the Captain married. Pickup at your hotel in Salzburg. Perfect for families, first-time visitors and anyone who grew up singing the songs.
Pickup at your Salzburg hotel. Mirabell Gardens: Do-Re-Mi steps, Pegasus fountain, dwarf garden (about 30 min on foot). Short drive past Nonnberg Abbey and the Residenzplatz fountain. Leopoldskron Palace across the lake, the von Trapp family home in the film (photo stop). Hellbrunn Palace park and the "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" gazebo (about 20 min). Scenic drive into the Salzkammergut lake district with views of Lake Fuschl and the hills from the opening scene. Mondsee: Basilica of St. Michael, the wedding church, and time for a coffee or apple strudel in the old market square (about 45 min). Drive back to Salzburg and drop-off at your hotel or in the old town.
