Salzburg 3 Hour Walking Tour

A walk through the old streets and public squares of a very well preserved historic town. Salzburg has several historic buildings and fountains, mainly from the seventeenth century, as well as one of the most important cathedrals in the region. Its streets and public squares keep alive a unique atmosphere. It has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage. This is also the city where the great musician Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born. Music lovers will certainly want to see the house where he was born, the church where he was baptised. Salzburg is also home to yearly festivals of classical music in Summer and Easter. Visiting at Easter or in summer will make you part of the busy but elegant atmosphere of a festival town. If you happen to visit Salzburg in December, you will see its typical Christmas Markets. Salzburg is also known for the numerous filming locations shown seen in "The Sound Of Music", which was shot here in 1964. Two Historic cafés are worth seeing (when Covid-19 is over)

The walking tour takes you to the Mirabell garden - well known to those familiar with "The Sound Of Music" movie and the "do-re-mi" song - then across the pedestrian bridge over the river Salzach to the main historic street with its old shop signs. You will walk past Mozart's Birthplace and through picturesque passageways, past 2 historic cafés. Further, you will see 5 public squares laid out 400 years ago in the Italian style. Numerous baroque monuments will be on your way, among which the cathedral particularly stands out; it can be visited when religious services are not taking place (admission= 5 EURO per person). You can also have a stunning view of the medieval fortress from one of the public squares, a favourite snapshot among visitors.
