Hi everyone! My name is Carlos and I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Salzburg. Home of Mozart and the Sound of Music, where culture, history and architecture are surrounded by the majestic Alps and the breathtaking Lake District. I love where I live and I am proud to be a fully licensed driver guide. I have been working as a professional guide since 2001. It all started as a Summer job in the Portuguese island of Madeira where I was born. Guess what? I loved it so much that I'm still doing it today. I've been guiding in Salzburg since 2006. Carlos was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. Our trip took a small detour due impending rain and what a great detour it was. We were able to take a boat ride and visit another small town before our excursion to Hallstatt. Our party of six all said this tour was a highlight of our trip. Thank you, Carlos. We highly recommend him as a tour guide. Outstanding.
Carlos was an excellent tour guide! Agreed to pick us up at 6:30 in the morning from Salzburg so that we could get to Halstadtt before the mass influx of other tourists… he gave us wonderful history lessons as we walked around, and then it took us over to Woolfgansee, giving us free time to roam around the beautiful little town before we took a 15 minute boat ride over to Saint Gilgen… just a perfect day!
Our guide Carlo's made our tour enjoyable by sharing with us his favorite places in the Dachstein area. We visited Gosausee, what a bonus... this place is so beautiful and magical. Much better than Hallstatt, although Hallstatt scenery is beautiful, we find it overcrowded with ''daytime' tourist. Werfen is also lovely, very green farmland and in a sense, a nice contrast to the mountains and lakes. We sense Carlos's love and passion in showing us places in Austria. He's the right guide for you... in-depth knowledge of the area, sincere, friendly and a lovely friend to have. I will highly recommend Carlos to anyone touring Austria.
Our family had a tour of Hallstadt yesterday. Our guide Carlos Loureiro was amazing. He picked us up from our Salzburg hotel in brand new Mercedes luxury van. The drive was filled with stunning views. Hallstadt and the salt mine tour were the highlight of our vacation. Carlos was so fun, it was like traveling with a great friend. We cannot recommend this tour enough... I'm sure all of their tours would be equally as well managed and fun.
This tour was the highlight of my visit to Austria. Carlos was right on time for pickup, he asked our group for some ideas and he more than delivered. He took us on roads to and spots that we never would have found. He also took us to a luge that was amazing! Halstatt was gorgeous, but for me wasn't the best spot he showed us. With so much van time, we also learned a lot about his life, which was great! Trust Carlos to show you a fantastic time in a gorgeous part of the world!
We had a fabulous day with Carlos. He gave us a great overview of not only the sights we wanted to see but also the Austrian way of life. Would highly recommend to anybody travelling to Salzburg
Escape Salzburg for a private excursion to Hallstatt. Journey along the emerald-green Fuschlsee to our first stop at Castle Fuschl. Travel on to St. Gilgen and take a stunning photo of the beautiful scenery from a great view point. Leaving St. Gilgen and driving along the Wolfgangsee our trip will bring us to Bad Ischl, famous for its spa and the Emperor's summer palace. Driving through Bad Goisern we will reach one of the highlights of our tour, Hallstatt: the pearl of the Lake District. In Hallstatt you can choose between taking the panorama funicular railway up the mountain at Hallstatt and Experience the magnificent "World Heritage view" 360 meters above town, on the Hallstatt sky walk and continuing on to the oldest salt mine in the world or a visit to the 5fingers viewing platform, this is probably the most spectacular viewing platform in the Alps and reaches out like a hand over the 400m drop. On our way home from Hallstatt, the Gosausee with its backdrop of the glistening Dachstein glacier awaits us.
