People say it is hard to find an "original" Salzburger in Salzburg! :) However, I was born into a Salzburg family and raised here. So, you can call me an original Salzburger! After having studied languages and art history in Innsbruck, Vienna and Milan (Italy), and after having seen several corners in all over the world, I decided deliberately to come back to my hometown . For me, Salzburg is simply THE perfect place to live. Because it is a charming and interesting city, offering an outstanding and rich cultural program, charming cafés and restaurants, a specific "Mediterranean" life-style, a joyful atmosphere and a fascinating mix of tradition and modernity. In addition, you find the most picturesque and breath-taking landscape in the surroundings, with emerald-green lakes embedded between often snow-covered Alpine mountains. So, there is nothing better than enjoying life here! In winter, I am fond of making ski tours, and in summer, I love to attend the famous Salzburg Music Festival, but also riding my bicycle, sailing, swimming, playing tennis, and drinking a nice glass of wine on the banks of Lake Mondsee, my second home, in the famous Salzkammergut Region. By the way, Mondsee hosts the wedding church of the famous movie Sound of Music. You can call me a lucky person, because I have the chance to combine my passion with my profession. It really makes me happy to meet people from all over the world and to show them my favourite places. Many of them are, by the way, world famous. But, there are still some charming hidden corners left… Come and be my guest! Together we will explore Salzburg and its magnificent surroundings. We loved having Sissy introduce us to Salzburg! I selected her because she’s a native Saltzburger. She had such enthusiasm and took great care to ensure we got all we wanted from the tour. It was a perfect way to learn about the city’s history and get oriented.
Our two hours with Sissy was not long enough! We were sorry we did not book a longer tour. Her wealth of knowledge, history fun and unique stories gave us a wonderful taste of Salzburg and left us wanting for more. We had a wonderful tour on a freezing cold Sunday with Sissy. She is so knowledgeable and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her and learning so many hidden facets about Mozart among others.
We added this tour onto our city tour and wanted to keep the same guide. Sissy showed us lots of things that we would have missed at the castle if we had not done the tour with her. She showed us all in a nice and relaxed way, and we did not feel rushed at all. Her passion shone in this tour and pointed out and recommended other sights to visit in the area surrounding Salzburg. I highly recommend this tour if you wish to visit Hohensalzburg Fortress.
We loved our tour with Sissy! She is extremely warm, gracious, a wealth of knowledge, and we had the best tour of Salzburg possible. Lots of details about history, architecture, culture and making sure that we saw not only the "key" places. but those that many people don't get to see. Loved it!
