Jalisco is home to the most representative items that represent Mexico in the world, Mariachi, Tequila and hat dance. But there is more in this land than those brands dyed by Hollywood to our country. I was born and raised in San Andres, one of the oldest barrios (neighborhoods) in Guadalajara, I belong to a large Mexican family. When I was 19 years old I went for an adventure to the United States, young and single with nothing to lose and lots to gain I migrated to the States. I was fortunate to meet lots of people from all over the world while I went to study in a community college, then I learned that there were lots of misconceptions about Mexico. First I study a GED and along the way I obtain an associated degree in liberal arts, then I decide I should do something to teach people about my country and I studied an associated degree in Traveling and Tourism. In the USA I lived mostly on the west coast but also for a while on the east coast. In the year 2000 I applied to the tourism bureau to get my credentials to become a Tourist guide and in 2001 I obtained a four-year permit which I renew twice and after twelve years I obtained my permanent permit. During this time I have met people from all over the world and I have participated in T. V. programs, radio programs, I have aided book writers and help people in different investigations. Family members search, climate change, owls research among many other adventures. So, since 2001 I've been guiding people from all over the world and enjoying what I do giving my best to every single person I have helped. Please allow me to show you my home and be part of your memories, memories that you will make when traveling into a new world that is waiting for you and your dear family members. Lino was knowledgeable, professional and above all personable. He checked in with us prior to the tour to tailor the tour to our specific requests ( to see the Orozco murals). He clearly knew history as well as was able to explain the details in the art we were seeing. Touring with Lino was the best possible way to have begun our visit to Guadalajara.

This was an excellent introduction to the beautiful towns along Lake Chapala. This is the second tour I have taken with Lino, the first being 3 years ago on my first trip to GDL and Jalisco. I had such a great experience that time that I knew he'd be the perfect person to guide me around another part of the state I wanted to explore. He's a cool guy, fun to talk to, and...

A day around Guadalajara under Lino's stewardship proved an object lesson in how local knowledge dispels preconceptions. As Europeans on our first ToursByLocals booking, we approached with caution about security. In practice, the route felt no more precarious than Neukölln or Köln-Kalk, and decidedly safer than surroundings of San Francisco's Market Street, where we...

I thoroughly enjoyed my day with Lino at lake Chapala. He is very knowledgeable and communicates well. I had a necessity to return a little earlier than usual and he worked hard to make sure I could see everything and still make my appointment. His English is excellent and he has a great sense of humor.
