After the completion of my studies of philosophy in Austria and England I decided to come back to my splendid Bavarian home town and started working as a journalist and tour guide. In 2006 I was trained and authorised to give tours in Munich and Dachau, one of my major interests being the gloomy history of the Third Reich.
As a freelance tour guide I would also like to introduce you to the more pleasant aspects of Munich's rich history, including monumental parks, palaces, churches, rivers and natural landmarks. On request I also offer bicycle and hiking tours in Munich and in the Alps.
I am looking forward to showing you around. If you wish to explore Bavaria with a real local, let us get in touch. I would appreciate if you booked your tour at least a week in advance. In the summer it usually gets quite busy, so in case you would like to arrange a tour with me at shorter notice please send me a message before you book. I will reply within a few hours (or even minutes) and do my best to accommodate my schedule for you. Especially in the low season I can also offer alternative starting times, just ask me. If you see no availability for your preferred tour date please contact me anyway, and I see what I can do for you.
Last but not least, thanks a lot for more than 220 5 star reviews over the past 5 years. Thanks to your feedback (very much appreciated!) I was honoured as one of ToursByLocals's Top 3 Guides in Europe in 2017!

Stefan was awesome! We did a family tour and my kids enjoyed every minute. Stefan provides a lot of history, presented in an understandable way. We got a great overview of Munich.
