This is the perfect tour for active visitors loving the outdoor, nature, walking and a passion for gardens. John Bartram, the King's Botanist in colonial America, was a naturalist and explorer whose fascination with Botany left an incredible mark on the field and in the world. The Bartram's Garden is an oasis of 45-acre site in Northwest Philadelphia which features Bartram's 18th century home, farm buildings, historic medicinal garden, the river, native trees and flowers. It is the time to embrace the warmth of Spring and take a stroll through the garden through a living wonder of natural history . The beauty and tranquility around this public sustainable garden is a must to see when visiting Philadelphia. Allow at a minimum of two hours for your visit. The garden is located in Lenapehoking, the homeland of the Lenape people. The oldest surviving Botanical Garden in North America. A Garden tour is a great way to learn about the environment, sustainability and how to treat and connect with nature.
