In 1777, British General William Howe started on his campaign to take Philadelphia with the goal to quickly end the war for King George III. In this tour we cover the battles (Brandywine, Germantown, Paoli, Clouds) that led to the capture of Philadelphia, the people who fought in those battles (General Washington, Nathanael Greene, General Howe) and the aftermath of the battles both on and off the battlefield. (Fort Mifflin, Olde City, South Philadelphia*) We will visit the visit the various sites and landmarks associated with this particular campaign that are in and around Philadelphia. *Locations on tour are subject to availablity. Please note tour will be lead by curators within each museum. Please contact me to learn which museums will be available on your tour date.
-Starting in Olde City, we will start with Washington's crossing of the Delaware River, -then explore the surrounding area before moving on to Germantown area, -Valley Forge, -Fort Mifflin, and wrapping up in South Philadelphia.
