There is a lot more to Philadelphia than Ben Franklin, cheesesteaks, and the Liberty Bell. Philly is a living history lesson filled with stories, conflicts, food, and defiance. IT'S THE BEGINNING OF AMERICA. The Declaration of Independence from the Crown. The first capital of the United States. The first protest for the abolition of slavery. Home of the first to knock out Mohammad Ali. That is what exists in the city of Brotherly Love. If coming to Philadelphia, whether it is a long layover, weekend getaway, or your a Sunday Historian; booking a tour with me is not simply learning a few facts but your first step in becoming a Philadelphian. This is your introduction. From Betsy Ross' House to the churches of Fishtown and onward to the Calle de Oro. You will see it all. I look forward to being your guide. Aww Right! In this tour participants experience the best that Philly has to offer. Over the course of four hours travelers visit local sites such as the Liberty Bell and Independence Mall. Stop for a cheesesteak (not included). Run or walk up the Art Museum stairs for a photo with Rocky. While in between learn why Philly stands out amongst nearby cities such as D.C. and Manhattan. Equal mix of American history and local experiences.
Start with a pick up at the cruise port in a luxury SUV. Our first stop is the Italian Market to learn about the neighborhood and the impact the Rocky movie has made to it. Next up is the bohemian side of Philly. South Street with it's art asethetic and eclectic look. We drive through the Society Hill area where our Founding Fathers once lived, drank, and partied. Next up the Independence Mall area where we visit the Liberty Bell (entry depends on length of line), Independence Hall (from the outside), and the President's former home. Following that up is Olde City (Elfreith's Alley, Betsy Ross House, First & Second Bank of the United States, Ben Franklin's Home and Burial Site. After a cheesesteak break (not included) we visit Art Museum area, Eastern State Penn (from outside), local beer break (not included) and finally the Reading Terminal Market (opportunity to buy souvenirs). After that we head back to the cruise port for drop off.
