I am a Registered Architect who has lived in the City of Philadelphia since 1978. While practicing architecture, I began teaching courses from 1980-1990 at Temple University, including a course on the History of Philadelphia Architecture. After taking a walking tour with famed City Planner Ed Bacon, I was inspired to give my students similar tours of the city. Currently residing in the Old City area of Philadelphia, I would love to introduce you to my city. Alexander Hamilton - Revolutionary War hero, Washington's aide-de-camp, member of the Constitutional Convention, author of the Federalist Papers, first Secretary of the Treasury - the list goes on and on. Hamilton spent a good deal of time here in Philadelphia (some even with his short lived mistress Maria Reynolds), and we explore his life and the places here. We will meet a cast of characters along the way, such as George Washington, John Adams, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison, among others. We will be listening to 8 edited songs from the musical, so come and sing along if you know the words. If you haven't seen the play, this we be an excellent introduction! Reid is a very knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. We are fans of the play, and I also read Ron Chernow's book. It was so interesting to walk around Independence Historical Park and see the beautiful old buildings while following Hamilton's story through the Revolutionary War period and Washington's and Adam's presidencies. I particularly enjoyed seeing Charles Wilson Peale's portraits from the era in the Second National Bank building. Great tour!

Our group of six adults really enjoyed the Hamilton Tour. Reid was very knowledgeable and personable. It was very interesting to hear facts about Hamilton's personal and political life and hear about his activities during his time in Philadelphia. While none of us had seen the play "Hamilton", Reid sang short versions of many of the songs after explaining what the songs were about. There were numerous times along the tour where we were able to sit down on benches while listening to Reid. We all highly recommend this tour if you have any interest in Alexander Hamilton.
Reid is an incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide. He's also pitch perfect! Fans of the musical, you are in for a treat. An excellent tour for tweens and teens to keep their attention regarding Hamilton's history. He was on time, friendly, knowledgeable and a good communicator.
This was a great tour! Reid was very thorough in his knowledge of all things Hamilton. We learned a lot that we didn't know and what wasn't accurate in the musical. The music was a nice touch that we were able to relate to. Thanks!
