If you only have three hours in Philadelphia, spend it getting to know this historical city through an architectural walking tour with me. Every building has a story to tell, from the materials, technology, and styles favored when it was constructed, to the people who designed, built, lived and worked there. Events of historic proportion take place in and around buildings as well. Come with me on this journey to discover all the secrets each building on our tours are waiting to tell us. You may pick from one of my prepared tours, or let me know what you would like to see and I will customize a tour for you. I offer organized and thought-provoking walking tours, guided by an architectural professional. Experience my beautiful, historic, World Heritage city through the eyes of an architect. I am a Registered Architect who has lived in the City of Philadelphia since 1978. While practicing architecture, I began teaching courses from 1980-1990 at Temple University, including a course on the History of Philadelphia Architecture. After taking a walking tour with famed City Planner Ed Bacon, I was inspired to give my students similar tours of the city. Currently residing in the Old City area of Philadelphia, I would love to introduce you to my city. Registered Architect Member of the Association of Philadelphia Tour guides As most tours are 3 hours of walking, be prepared with a good set of comfortable shoes.

Overview of your Philadelphia tour

Alexander Hamilton - Revolutionary War hero, Washington's aide-de-camp, member of the Constitutional Convention, author of the Federalist Papers, first Secretary of the Treasury - the list goes on and on. Hamilton spent a good deal of time here in Philadelphia (some even with his short lived mistress Maria Reynolds), and we explore his life and the places here. We will meet a cast of characters along the way, such as George Washington, John Adams, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison, among others. We will be listening to 8 edited songs from the musical, so come and sing along if you know the words. If you haven't seen the play, this we be an excellent introduction! Come join me on this fun filled tour into the life and times of one of the truly remarkable Founding Fathers. You know you want to be on the tour where it happens. Just sign up and, click BOOM!

Our group of six adults really enjoyed the Hamilton Tour. Reid was very knowledgeable and personable. It was very interesting to hear facts about Hamilton's personal and political life and hear about his activities during his time in Philadelphia. While none of us had seen the play "Hamilton", Reid sang short versions of many of the songs after explaining what the songs were about. There were numerous times along the tour where we were able to sit down on benches while listening to Reid. We all highly recommend this tour if you have any interest in Alexander Hamilton.

Reid is an incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide. He's also pitch perfect! Fans of the musical, you are in for a treat. You will hear the facts, the fanfare, the rumors and the counter rumors of perhaps our most impactful founding father. Remember: who lives, who dies, who tells your story? Our family thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon with Reid.

An excellent tour for tweens and teens to keep their attention regarding Hamilton's history. He was on time, friendly, knowledgeable and a good communicator.

This was a great tour! Reid was very thorough in his knowledge of all things Hamilton. We learned a lot that we didn't know and what wasn't accurate in the musical. The music was a nice touch that we were able to relate to. Thanks!
