If coming to Philadelphia, whether it is a long layover, weekend getaway, or your a Sunday Historian; booking a tour with me is not simply learning a few facts but your first step in becoming a Philadelphian. You've seen all the tourist attractions and now want to know what really makes Philly stand out? It's the neighborhoods! On this tour we get into the gossip, secrets, and controversy in Philly's past and present. The young and elite in and around Rittenhouse Square with views of the city that most never see. The Parkway Museums and Art Museum which is Philly's ode to Paris. The 30 year construction of City Hall and the businesses and homes that sprang up around it. The Quaker Experiment in finding inner light via solitary confinement called the Eastern State Penn. This is Philly.

We had a great day on our tour with Keshler. He's very knowledgeable and personable. City Hall is the perfect place to learn how and why the city expanded from its original footprint. This tour covers a lot of ground and a lot of stories! It ends at the penitentiary - will have to do the tour inside next time. We stayed just off Rittenhouse Square so it was interesting to learn a bit about that neighborhood and beautiful park. FYI - many restaurants, cafés and bars in the area. We will definitely take another tour with Keshler next time we are in Philly!

Keshler absolutely blew us out of the water on this tour. He planned an extensive custom private tour of Philadelphia for us, exploring the history and life of a particular prominent historical figure who happened to be a relative of ours. He found so many properties and life details that we hadn't found in our own research. He was so prepared, excited and well-researched. Best tour I have ever been on.

Your Philadelphia tour itinerary

-Starting in the center of City Hall we begin in 1873 and Philadelphia's formal move from it's original boundries. -We will take a look at the people's who first inhabited the various sections of Philly and work our way down South Broad and over to Rittenhouse Square where we will trace the history of the elite who once lived there. -Slowly we will make our way over to the Parkway and finally the Art Museum and Fairmount Water Works before finally wrapping it up at the Eastern State Penn.
