I will make your time in Chicago a very special time to treasure. Born & raised in the City, I know that I can open doors to a one of a kind memorable experience. I am an Artist having traveled all over the U. S. doing Art Fairs & internationally as Artist for Club Med. I have an intimate vision & understanding of what visiting & touring a new place is all about. I was artist for the State of Illinois. Artist in residence for the development of the Museum Campus. I have a Master's in Historic Preservation from the Art Institute of Chicago. After 20 years, I recently retired from the City of Chicago as Director of Community Outreach. My intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the city allow me to offer a total immersive experience, not available on other tours. From wherever you come from, I will make you feel comfortable, safe and at home. I was artist for the State of Illinois for the turn of the Century I was Artist in Residence for the development of the Museum Campus I recently retired from the City of Chicago , after 20 years as Director of Community Outreach Worked closely with the mayor's wife, Maggie Daley on art projects for Youth throughout the city. I am considered a great raconteur & storyteller. Some tours will use transportation either Uber or I will get a car.

Overview of your Chicago tour
The city of Chicago is a vast panorama of beauty & interesting places just waiting to be made into a picture. I am an artist and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and therefore I will introduce you to the city as your personal painting teacher. We will visit beautifully landscaped gardens, historic 19th Century buildings & charming neighborhoods. We will be outdoors & safely distanced to take in & draw the magnificent majesty of a city skyline set against an inland sweet water ocean. On our adventure, we will stop at eateries with outdoor seating, sampling unusual cuisines and we will be able to taste Chicago! As you work on your pictures, I will tell you the history of the place. Those who enjoy or want to try doing art will find this tour a joy! I will work with you closely so anyone will be able to have fun. You will not only learn about the city but capture the beauty & wonder of this amazing city on paper for your memories! The city literally becomes your canvas!
Your Chicago tour itinerary
On the day of the tour, I will meet you at the entrance to Lincoln Park Zoo with all the art supplies. We will take in the formal garden & if you like meander through the Grand Conservatory. From there we will walk through the zoo heading to our first Art Site. Outside the zoo on a large hill is the Grant Monument. It has a spectacular view of the city & Lakefront. The setting will inspire you to capture the overall grandeur of the city landscape. I will talk about the different buildings as we work. We will walk back to the Swan Pond & stop for a snack at the Café Brauer, a 19th Century building & sit for while & sketch. From here we walk through the Farm in the zoo. Proceeding across the street to The outdoor Green Market to sample seasonal delights. (not open all the time; we can schedule for the day). From here we walk two blocks to the Chicago History Museum look around & pick up a sandwich at their café, which we will take to our final drawing site.
