They are the iconic Chicago scenes featured in the pop culture John Hughes film Ferris Bueller's Day Off! A fun way to see & learn about the many styles of architecture (classic Beaux-Arts, Chicago School to Art Deco, International Style) and world-class public art (Tiffany stained glass, Calder, Chagall & Picasso) Along the way, I will point out where the memorable movie scenes took place. Let the urban adventure begin!

This was our first time in Chicago. Mimi took us to many of the sites that were in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and many other beautiful sites inside public buildings. She showed us gorgeous displays by Tiffany's, wonderful mosaics and many more. You'd have to be a local to even know where to look for these! It was 95 degrees outside, but she escorted us through shaded routes and air conditioned buildings whenever possible. She did the entire tour while wearing a walking boot for a broken toe. Amazing!

So much fun! Next time we are in Chicago, we will ask Mimi to take us on another tour, perhaps a food tour?? Make sure you take notes when you are with her because you will want to read some books, return to some sights, and eat at some eateries after your tour. She makes all kinds of recommendations!

Itinerary includes: - Cultural Center (inside & out) - Millennium Park (Pritzker Pavillion, Cloudgate & Crown Fountain) - the Art Institute of Chicago - Palmer House Hilton lobby - Mies Van der Rohe Federal Plaza & Calder sculpture - Marquette Building (Tiffany lobby) - Chagall mosaic - Daley Plaza/Picasso - the Chicago River Along the route, I will share interesting stories of Chicago history & point out the scenes we all remember from Ferris Bueller's Day Off! The Art Institute, the parade route & many more! Approximately 2+ mile walk. Please be prepared and dress accordingly. Tours will take place regardless of the weather. Depending on the season I would suggest layers and possibly an umbrella THIS TOUR TAKES PLACE COMPLETELY OUTSIDE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A LONGER TOUR TO SEE MORE I RECOMMEND COMBINING THIS WITH MY N MICHIGAN AVE, GOLD COAST& OLD TOWN ROUTE.
