I am a Chicago native and have lived and worked in the area for almost my whole life. I have also travelled quite a bit and can honestly say that Chicago is one of the best cities in the world! As a matter of fact, did you know that Chicago was just named Best Big City in America for the 8th year in a row?! I am excited to show you all it has to offer. My tours are based on walking because Chicago is a great walking city. You will be delighted to hear all the stories I have to tell, including why Chicago is so clean and how Chicago got its nicknames of Windy City and Second City. We will talk about history and architecture. I also love to stop at local restaurants to sample classic Chicago favourites. All tours can be customized, so please just let me know if there is something specific you’d like to see or eat or talk about. I can ’t wait to meet you and show off my favourite city!

Did you know that skyscrapers were invented in Chicago? We’ll explore excellent examples of both old and more modern tall buildings on this walking tour of the Chicago Loop. We will have the opportunity to step into some of these striking buildings on weekdays. Even though some are closed on the weekends, we will still walk by them and discuss their distinct features regardless. Along the way I will tell stories about the buildings we pass and the sights we see. You will learn that many buildings are named for events that happened inside them, or for conditions that existed while they were being built. And you will be able to decide at any moment if or when you'd like to grab a classic Chicago dish! We could enjoy one of the following at some point during the tour: deep dish pizza, hot dog or Italian beef sandwich.
-We will start by meeting at the Willis Tower, once the world’s tallest building. -Afterwards we’ll head to the Rookery Building, which was the tallest building in Chicago when it was built. -Next we’ll explore the Central Standard Building whose name is a hint to a historical event. -We'll then take a look at the Chicago Board of Trade Building and its famous statue. -After a short walk, we’ll see the historical and unique Monadnock Building. -For a change of scenery we’ll proceed to explore the Harold Washington Public Library. At last, we’ll end the tour at one of the most historically glamorous hotels in the city, the Palmer House Hotel. Note: this tour can be adjusted to accommodate more or fewer guests (with the price adjusted accordingly), and the areas visited can also be modified upon request.
