I will make your time in Chicago a very special time to treasure. Born & raised in the City, I know that I can open doors to a one of a kind memorable experience. I am an Artist having traveled all over the U. S. doing Art Fairs & internationally as Artist for Club Med. I have an intimate vision & understanding of what visiting & touring a new place is all about. I was artist for the State of Illinois. Artist in residence for the development of the Museum Campus. I have a Master's in Historic Preservation from the Art Institute of Chicago. After 20 years, I recently retired from the City of Chicago as Director of Community Outreach. My intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the city allow me to offer a total immersive experience, not available on other tours. From wherever you come from, I will make you feel comfortable, safe and at home. I was artist for the State of Illinois for the turn of the Century I was Artist in Residence for the development of the Museum Campus I recently retired from the City of Chicago , after 20 years as Director of Community Outreach Worked closely with the mayor's wife, Maggie Daley on art projects for Youth throughout the city. I am considered a great raconteur & storyteller. Some tours will use transportation either Uber or I will get a car.

From the beginnings of Chicago, the North Shore has been a haven for the very rich & well connected . Set against the backdrop of one of the largest inland lakes, we will take a two lane road that meanders through great historic sites, magnificent estates & a big ten University. As we travel on our journey , we will stop to experience all the the wonder & tranquility the area has to offer. The tour offers opportunities to visit old house museums, a light house, hidden gardens & a religious temple that took 90 years to build! The beauty & naturalness of the setting will see why the area has been a haven for those who could afford to live there ; from the days it was just a vacation getaway before the advent of the automobile. I intimately am familiar with all it's many treasures & look forward to sharing them with you.

Bob is knowledgeable, charming and has a nice sense of timing. His communication before during and after the tour was impeccable. He arrived early for our pickup and had the car ready for our tour. We met and headed north to see the neighborhood's of the North Shore. Bob has both historic knowledge and personal antidotes about the places you visit. He is a member of many of the institutions that make the story telling interesting. I can't recall an easier more enjoyable, educational outing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Bob! He arrived on time, bringing us a lovely gift - one of his drawings of Chicago as a keepsake. He was knowledgeable, friendly and showed us all the places in the tour description, plus more. In addition to the beautiful neighborhoods of the northern suburbs, we walked around the grounds of the Baha'i Temple and the Shakespeare Garden at Northwestern University, stopped at wonderful bagel shop, and at our request, he dropped us at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
I will pick you up at the place you designate the most convenient. I will have a rental car that I will be driving. We will have the freedom & comfort to stop anywhere. The journey will start on Lake Shore Drive in the city , slowing down to Sheridan Road a two lane road. We will pass through many neighborhoods , which I will tell you stories about. We will see a Frank Lloyd Wright home at the end of the city & Then we will begin our our entrance to the fabulous North Shore. The road will turn almost into the lake, then opening up to Evanston. We will see the quaint downtown, historic homes , old huge beachfront property & Northwestern University. The school, set on the lake has a wonderful art museum, modern unique buildings & a charming hidden romantic garden. A gem maintained by the Woman's Garden Club. We will continue our voyage through the villages of Willmette , Kenilworth and Winnetka, experience their elegance. Our journey will stop at a religious site , seemingly floating in air.
