I just love giving these tours. My customers, to my great delight, have mentioned that my enthusiasm for my city was something that they really enjoyed. I have studied up most deeply on our architecture, on our history, and especially on the historical setting and context of specific buildings, landmarks, and monuments. I will not simply be saying, "Oh, here is another major building/monument/sculpture. " That is not a real tour. I give R-E-A-L tours. You will leave knowing a lot more about why Chicago became the major city that it is, and not a minor city. Also, I will be referring you on to other nearby great places you can view on your own, give you detailed information on each gigantic museum, as well as guide you to the best restaurants by cuisine type. You name it, we have it: Jamaican, Peruvian, Filipino, Brazilian, Scottish, African, Serbian, everything. just staggering. You will be able to walk to all the great destinations I point out after our tour, or on following days, of course for free. Tons of free advice and input from me! Above all else, I want you to love this place. You hardly need me to take in all the mind-bending sights here, but you'll sure know where else to go. I am a died in the wool Chicagoan, and above all else just love assisting visitors to get to know our great City. I am retired now and earning money out of this is hardly my top priority. I'm here to help in any way that I can. WELCOME TO CHICAGO! Yours, Joe Former taxi and Uber driver. I know this city like the back of my hand. None at all.

Being retired, I check my email and texts only about every two days. Believe me, phone is best: 312-550-3807. Yes, texting is possible, but other than the most utterly simple question, such as you wanting to postpone the start by five minutes, I am likely to text you back saying, "It'll be way easier if we just get on the phone. Plus, we can customize your tour by chatting!" Believe me, customizing the tour will make for a MUCH more rewarding experience for you, your time, and your investment. In addition to what is listed in the itinerary below, you'll get the massive 1 square block, ultra grand City Hall (1895) , the iconic, sleek, art deco 40 story Board of Trade Building from 1930, several other 1920s-1930s very tall art deco buildings with beautiful lobbies, the two story high world famous Picasso sculpture, and the one of a kind, blue, reflective, round State of Illinois building with an amazing atrium, Old and ultra new, cultural and business, all in one tour.
1. The old Chicago Public Libary of 1893: a breathtaking architectural masterpiece, inside as well as out. 2. The ultra-modern Pritzker Bandshell, seen in the famous Millennium Park. 3. The old 1895 Marshall Fields department store colossus (now Macy's), an entire square block, and lined with beautiful, grand tile mosaics, plus immense copper clocks. It is elegant department store shopping from the year 1910, catering to the wealthiest of Chicago then. 4. The current main Chicago Public Library. It fills an entire square block, and has the grandeur and beauty of a library befitting a city of Chicago's size, including numerous historical elements. 5. First National Bank Building, now J. P. Morgan Chase. This was a 60 story stunner when completed 50 years ago, because it is curved. The world took note. Still very beautiful. 6. 100 story, 50 year old, gleaming white, marble-clad Amoco building, overlooking the park. This beauty sent shock waves around the world. Largest marble-clad building on the planet.
