So you are travelling to London again, you have visited a number of times and are familiar with the Big Five - the highlight sights that are a must see for any first timer in London. Now you want to scratch beneath the surface - quite literally if you want to trace the Roman origins now some 20 feet below street level. My customised tours take you through the London you want to see visiting places not on the usual tourist trail. Set me a theme and I will develop an itinerary to suit your interests. The tour can be negotiated to up to eight hours duration.
Dawne provided a wonderful a wonderful tour of London. She was knowledgeable throughout the city and was very open to customizing based on my interests. I was with her for 1.5 days and saw many major sites while also learning a great deal about London history and London today.
My 3x great grandmother, Elizabeth, was a convict transported to Van Diemen's Land in Australia in 1831. Although I have researched her life as a convict, I wanted to know what it would have been like for her to live in London in those times. Dawn did a lot of research for me. We did a half day walking tour to the Old Bailey where the trial took place, to the area in Clerkenwell where Elizabeth had lived and to churches and other landmarks in that area that are still there today. I was in England for a month and did a lot of sightseeing and this day was a highlight. Dawn is a friendly and intelligent guide and delivered a great tour for me.
We just enjoyed our second tour with Dawn Blee in the last few years. Dawn is an exceptional guide and a lovely, well educuated and articulate presenter of life in the country she loves and is so familiar with. Oh and did I mention, she makes the touring fun and fascinating as she unwinds her insight not only of Great Britain's history, but of how it interconnects with world history. We challenged her with a two different age groups, from our 20 year old grandson to us at age 80. During both tours she set a pace that worked for all of us and kept our interest at the highest levels. We use Tours by Locals a lot. While all of our guides have been excellent, Dawn is the best. Dawn was an outstanding tour guide knowing how and where to tour London at the best time! She is a delight to be around, organized and very knowledgeable. She is great for the next girl’s trip! We not only had a tour, but made a friend!
Dawn is a delight and did an amazing tour of Tower of London. Unfortunately we could not do St Paul's due to the Queens passing, but she took us to St Magnus the Marytr and Guild Hall (site of Roman amphitheater). Highly recommend her as your tour guide!
Dawn led us on a wonderful afternoon to the Churchill War Rooms. Her wide knowledge of history complemented the museum information, making this a very memorable tour. As a private tour, we also requested a stop at Liberty London and had a wonderful lunch there.
