Hi, my name is Tom and I am a proud Londoner. I was born and grew up in Camden Town, the product of Irish parents who arrived in the 1950s. I am a family man and have both children and grandchildren. My hobbies include walking and reading, usually about history, and I am interested in all sport but particularly football. I completed the world famous 'Knowledge of London' and qualified as a Professional London Black Cab Driver back in 1999. For me, London is an ongoing love affair and I am constantly seeking to extend my knowledge. I qualified as a London Taxi Tour Guide with the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers in 2018, and I have recently graduated as a Clerkenwell and Islington Tour Guide as well. I consider it a privilege to show you my city which has over 2000 years of history, and I can offer you a tour adapted entirely to your interests. We can take in any or all of the classics but you may prefer to explore a little off the beaten track and see some of the rarely visited but no less interesting places. The perfect way to achieve this is a combination of London taxi and walking; I offer both. And there is no need to feel guilty about riding around in my completely electric, eco-friendly taxi with seating for five guests. Most guests say that my tours are good fun, and I know you will take away some interesting facts, you may even pick up some cockney slang - hope to see you soon! Clerkenwell and Islington Guiding Association Qualified Guide 2022 Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers Taxi Tour Guide 2018 The Knowledge of London - 1999 Although I am a multi-qualified & registered guide I am not a Blue Badge guide so am unable to guide inside of Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower of London & Windsor Castle. However, I can accompany you on your visit.

This tour will give you an overview of all the major London sights. You will experience over 2000 years of history, and get a real feeling for this great city. London is full of iconic buildings and interesting monuments, and we can explore its history and traditions, as well as its famous inhabitants. Writing in 1777, Samuel Johnson was not wrong when he stated that 'when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life'. As a Black Cab driver and Taxi Tour Guide I have an in depth knowledge of London, a place I am passionate about. I can organise a tour that takes in the best that London has to offer but I am happy to incorporate your ideas as well. So, if there is something you particularly want to see or do, let me know. I look forward to meeting you Tom
Tom was a delight! Adapted immediately to the change we had to make to our pickup location. Asked questions so he could personalize our tour. Conveyed tons of historical information and interesting facts. Also a skillful driver. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! Also note that he seems to know every road in the City!
Thomas is an incredible guide. He knew an extraordinary amount of history and local facts. We see more in 6 hours than we would have seen in a week on our own. The tours are absolutely worth the price. Thomas catered to our 12 and 8 year old and had water for them. He took us through Westminster Abbey and he was able to keep their interest the entire visit. I highly recommend booking with Thomas.
It was perfect for my mom who has difficulty walking. We were in a taxi and able to park easily to hop out and see the sights. Thomas was knowledgeable and funny.
We have to say we had a GREAT, WONDERFUL & INFORMATIVE time with Thomas. He was on time, courteous and polite and he knew his craft. We were quite impressed with his knowledge of London. We would highly recommend Thomas for any future tours of London.
Tom McCaffrey and his all electric Black cab was an awesome guide. He is knowledgeable, patient a good communicator but most of all, his kindness is what shines thru. We saw all the highlights in a day and he even added an unscheduled stop of 84 Charring Cross Rd., a must for my sister. Although the special site is now a McDonald's, there is a plaque commemorating the significance of the site. At first my sister couldn't find it so Tom went back and found it and then made sure she got a photo of herself at the plaque. He was kind and paid attention to our needs. I highly recommend Tom and would book any tour he leads.
Thomas packed 1000s of years history into 10 hours. He was very knowledgeable and he guided us through all the sites. He navigated us thru London and got us back on time. HIGHLY recommend if you only have a day.
