Driving tour to Windsor Castle with your own Blue Badge Guide
Overview of your London tour
Windsor is the largest and oldest continually occupied castle in the world having been home to the British Royals for almost 1000 years! We will visit the wonderful state rooms and get up close to the art and antiques collected by the Royal Family through out the centuries. The extraordinary Queen Mary's Dolls House is a must see, as is St George's Chapel which is built in Perpendicular Gothic style unique to Britain & is where Queen Elizabeth II is laid to rest along with Henry VIII, Jane Seymour and many other monarchs, the chapel also hosted the marriage of Harry and Meghan. While in Windsor we will view Windsor's Royal processional route, the Long Walk and see Eton, the renowned school that educated Prince William, Prince Harry and 20 British Prime Ministers. We will also go on a driving tour to Runnymede, the birthplace of English democracy, where King John sealed the Magna Carta - some what unwillingly! Please note that Windsor Castle is not open on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

Tour was the best and guide Alexander, Sam, made it over the top. Sooo much history, so much information, so much beauty. Sam moved at our pace always informing, never pushing, mixing fact & fiction (keeping us engaged) and humor. Overall a 6hr experience worth all we paid and more. The tour and the opertunity to get upclose with the history of Royals, their habits and dwellings was so enlightening, having Sam walk us through it was a treat. Cannot recommend Sam, the Tours by Locals ease of booking and the tour itself highly enough!! Thank you Sam

I will encourage anyone traveling to the UK to absolutely make this a must do tour. Windsor Castle is magnificent and not to be missed. Our tour guide Alexander was superb and his encyclopedic knowledge truly brought it all to life. From start to finish he provided us with delightful bits of history and information that gave us the context necessary to fully appreciate what we were seeing. There is so much to see here that you truly need an experienced guide to make sense of it. From the state apartments, Queen Mary's doll house, and St. George's Chapel you find history at every turn. It is a tour that will undoubtedly be a highlight of your time in Great Britain. Don't miss it.

Suggested Itinerary for this is a 6 hour tour: • I'll pick you up at your central London location for the one hour drive to Windsor • We will then visit Windsor Castle where we will spend the morning • After which we take a short driving tour to visit Runnymede and Eton Please note that I am a Blue Badge Guide, only Blue Badge Guides can guide you inside the castles grounds and St George's Chapel Please note: -Only Blue Badge Guides are permitted to guide in Windsor Castle -Any other guides are simply offering an expensive taxi service! -Windsor Castle is not open on Tuesdays & Wednesdays -St George's Chapel is closed on Sunday's -Depending on group size we will use audio guides in the State Apartments with myself offering additional information throughout.
