How would you like to take a trip in my time machine!? Would you like to see two thousand years of history of London from the Romans right up to the present day? I can show you around this amazing city that I was born and brought up in. You will hear about poets and playwrights, Lords and Ladies, politicians and Prime Ministers, Princes, Princesses, Kings and Queens, some with their heads and some without their heads. . . all of this is possible, and so much more! If you're interested in the history of Rock'n'Roll in London, why not go back to the Swinging Sixties with me, and then on to the seventies, eighties or nineties, and back to the present day? The vehicle I use to take my guests on a time-travelling journey is actually a London black cab. These iconic taxis are loved and trusted by London's travelling public and are regularly voted the best in the world. They are a great way of seeing the sights, and are air-conditioned with plenty of leg room. They are also wheelchair-accessible. I have been a London taxi driver since 2006 and a qualified Tour Guide since 2011 - just in time for the London Olympics of 2012, which was a magical time for all of us that experienced it. I love my hometown of London dearly, and nothing gives me more pleasure than to show visitors around what is arguably the world's greatest capital city! But my knowledge of history isn't bound by the borders of London, not by a long stretch. I have been taking my guests for many years to wonderful places such as Oxford, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Bath and the Cotswolds - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, if ever there was one! You can see all of this and more - all from the comfort of an iconic London taxi, driven by a knowledgeable, experienced, affable and personable driver - yours truly! I look forward to seeing you! Licensed London Taxi Driver (Black Cab) since 2006. Member of City of Westminster Guides and Lecturers Association, qualified 2012. Qualified Taxi Tour Guide, since 2011, with the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers, accredited by City of London. Associate member of Black Cab Heritage Tours. Member of English Heritage. Member of the National Trust. Member of Historic Royal Palaces. Please note that I do not have a license to guide within St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey or the Tower of London. I can only guide in English.

Travel back through time with me on my tour of the Highlights of London's Landmarks! This is a great introduction for first-time visitors to the world's greatest capital city. We can go back 2, 000 years to see how and why the Romans chose this particular location on the River Thames for what would become their Empire's biggest city north of the Alps. We could go back 1, 000 years to the Norman Invasion and see one of William the Conqueror's many castles. We could also take a shorter journey of just 500 years to the time of Henry VIII, where I could tell you the incredible stories of his many wives (divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived!). The centuries since then have given London Civil Wars, Great Fires and Great Plagues, the Age of Enlightenment, the Georgian Era, the Industrial Revolution, two World Wars and much, much more. All of these events have conspired to mould this amazing city into one of the marvels of the world - and you can learn all about them on my time-travelling tour!
Michael was a great tour guide. Very enjoyable to be with. Black Cab was so comfortable and roomy and clean. Had water for us. Showed us the highlights of London with very interesting facts. Not a lot of walking which was a positive for us. We would recommend him.
Excellent time with Michael! He is a wealth of information and stories!
Highly recommend. This was my second tour with Mik, and it confirmed everything I thought the first time around. The first tour was with my wife on our first trip to London. It was the very first thing we did after landing, and honestly, it set the tone for the whole trip. We were tired from the flight, but somehow he made it feel easy—fun, engaging, and relaxed all at once. It ended up being one of the highlights of that visit. About a year and a half later, I came back with my daughter and son-in-law and booked Mik again, thinking it would be a great way to ease them into the city. Same result. He has a way of mixing knowledge, humor, and genuine kindness that keeps everyone engaged the whole time. It turned into one of the highlights of their trip too. Now I’ve got other family heading to London for their honeymoon, and when they asked what they shouldn’t miss, my daughter didn’t hesitate—she told them to book a tour with Mik. They’re already trying to line it up.
We scheduled a three hour black taxi tour of London and it was great. Our guide was very knowledgeable, personable and a joy to be with.
Unrealistically we thought we going to tour all the places we mentioned. Michael explained the nature of the tour. He drove and walked us and was absolutely wonderful. He was a cab driver prior and his knowledge is exceptional. He had answers to any and all of our questions. We truly enjoyed our experience and recommend him highly.
To start with, I can pick you up from any Central London location. If this is a hotel, I can meet you in the lobby after making my presence known to the receptionist and concierge. I'll then escort you to your carriage - an air-conditioned, wheelchair-accessible, famous and iconic London Black Cab. This can seat 4 adults comfortably but is licensed to carry up to 6 passengers. On this 3-hour tour we will visit the following landmarks: • St. James's Palace and Buckingham Palace • The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey • Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column • The Embankment and view of the River Thames • St. Paul's Cathedral (outside) • The Tower of London, Tower Bridge and the Roman Wall. At each of these stops I will give a 5-minute presentation to explain their history. You will be able to walk around, stretch your legs, and take photos. There will be a short drive between these stops with plenty of things to see as we go. All my tours can be customized, please feel free to contact me
