Join me on this very unusual tour of London created by me connecting various gory tales form the past. As a City of London Guide I have expertise in this area and I have given this tour many times! Originally built by Romans nearly 2000 years ago, the Old City is full of fascinating, dark and haunted history. You will experience the different side of London, visit places of executions, murders and hear grisly stories. Walk through 800 years old meat market, which was the site of many executions including Braveheart William Wallace - the Scottish rebel or hero! How he was hung, drawn and quartered! Also see the place where Bloody Mary cocktail originated! . . . and a man sold his wife for a penny! Really? Wandering through narrow lanes, we'll discover the grim events that took place, hear medieval ghost tales in church yards! See the oldest hospital in England, connected to 18th century body snatchers, and Sherlock Holmes and Henry VIII too. It is a unique tour, with unexpected findings in every step.
The tour starts in front of Farringdon Station. Some of the sites we will see are: • Smithfield Market • St Bartholomew's The Great Church • St Bartholomew's Hospital • Old Bailey • Greyfriars Christchurch • St Paul's Cathedral • Roman Amphitheatre •London Bridge •Tower of London This tour as a whole or partially, can be customized to fit your preferences - please inquire!
