Full Day Tour to Glasgow/Edinburgh from Inverness

Day 2 with Matthew for the Isle of Skye was every bit as enchanting as Day One. As there is a lot of driving for this trip, Matthew had a Scottish playlist teed up, including folk songs, pub songs, rock classics and the original song adapted for the Outlander theme song. My niece who took the tour with me had many questions in areas as diverse as the butterfat content of Highland cow milk - Matthew was able to answer everything (sometimes with the help of his Meta glasses). The many theories on the Loch Ness monster were most interesting. As I have mobility issues, I wasn’t able to walk with my niece to the Sligachan Bridge to put my face in the water for eternal beauty. Matthew had thoughtfully brought along a pan and carried up water for me to dunk in. Lunch was at a lovely Portree pub. Highly recommend the tour and Matthew.

Instead of just taking a taxi to get there, spend your day with Matthew, we enjoyed every bit of the trip from Nairn to Edinburgh! A short stop at Carrbridge, a nice hike along Loch an Eilein Loop in the Cairngorms National Park (with castle view), Ruthven Barracks viewpoint and the Kelpie; we did everything we asked for and more. Matthew is very knowledgeable, friendly and his passion for his country comes across in how he shares the stories and local information. Thank you Matthew, we hope to see you again!

Our family of 5 booked two tours with Matthew. We had a fantastic experience and my kids have said they were some of the best of our two week trip to the UK. He was knowledgeable, fun, upbeat, as well as incredibly patient and understanding with my youngest who has a sensory processing disorder. He went out of his way to get to know what my kids liked and then helped make some of our stops more fun for them. Thank you Matthew! We will forever be playing "Cheese on wheels" on roads trips from now on.

Matthew is the best guide we have ever had, knowledgable, easy going and funny as hell. How could we not give a five star rating? I guess we could have taken a star away for his horrible tight plaid pants but really it isn't his fault he shrunk them in the wash. We had a crazy list of goals for the day. For me historical sites, swim in a loch, the teenagers wanted perfect instagram shots with animals, nature and of course the Harry Potter steam train. He managed it all set to a Scottish music soundtrack.

He will show you the best places in Stirling while even waiting on you to catch your breath after climbing the 246 stairs up Wallace Monument! He makes the tour well worth it for sure.
