Hello! Welcome to the Scottish Highlands! Before I became a Tour Guide in 2016, I worked at Culloden Battlefield, where I led demonstrations of Highland weaponry and use of traditional clothing. My passion runs deep for all things Highland, particularly the Clans, Tartans, Kilts and Single Malt Whisky. As a Local, I enjoy sharing our culture and traditions as well as showing people our magnificent scenery and heritage. You will be accompanied by myself - an actual Highlander in a Kilt, who is well familiar with Highland roads, points of interests and some hidden gems. There will be endless stories of legendary folklore that I like to match with Highland hospitality. I am based at the Capital of the Highlands - Inverness. It is the home of our dear Nessie (the Loch Ness 'monster'). Here you will find actual places from the famous Outlander TV Show, inspired by the ones found at Clava Cairns and historical accounts of battles fought at Culloden. To this day, Inverness still has its delightful medieval flavour. Please be informed that I can accommodate a minimum of 2 or 3 passengers and maximum of 6. Solo travellers will need to book for 2. Overview of your Inverness tour
This tour is only available from April to October due to castle availability. As I pick you up from the Port, we'll drive up North to where you can experience a fairy tale come to life. The Dunrobin Castle is home to Clan Sutherland with french-inspired turrets, a grand garden, museum and a falconry show. You'll feel like you've stepped into a fairytale story that will transport you to a different time and place. We'll then take a short drive to a quaint medieval town where you can explore the famous Dornoch Cathedral, have lunch or shop for souvenirs, soak up local vibes and a chance to see some Highland Cows that we lovingly call Heilan Coos. To complete your day. . . I'll take you to a world famous Whisky Distillery to have a tasting or 2 at your discretion. This tour can be customized according to your preference but requires a minimum of 2 people per booking; maximum 6. I am looking forward to welcoming you!
Your Inverness tour itinerary
- Pick up from the cruise port - Drive to the 'Fairytale' Dunrobin Castle (about 45mins. ) Activity 1: Explore the Castle and Garden for about an hour. Activity 2: Explore the Castle Museum (about 30mins) Activity 3: Watch the Falconry show (about 30mins) - Drive to Dornoch (about 25mins. ) for lunch and a wander - Drive to Glenmorangie (about 15mins) to stop for about an hour. - Drive back to the Port (about 20mins)
