Born in the Scottish Borders and now residing in Edinburgh. I have been guiding all over Scotland, Europe and the world for the last 10 years. I feel privileged to have the honor of showing guests from all over the world around this amazing country. Guiding people around Scotland is the best job in the world, because Scotland does all the hard work for me by being so beautiful and stunning, there is always something great to show people or tell them about and no one is ever left disappointed! The reason I love Scotland so much is it has Everything. . . . an amaizing history, vibrant culture, spectacular architecture, breathtaking scenery and outstanding natural beauty and because Scotland is a relatively small country, it is all so easily accessible. One of my favorite little parts of Scottish life is having a drink of Irn-Bru (a uniquely Scottish soda/fizzy drink), which I strongly recommend you try during your Scottish adventure. Outside of work I enjoy watching football, checking out all the best local pubs, and visiting different castles/historic sights with my girlfriend. One of my stranger interests is beekeeping. . . . I spent a year in the Canadian wilderness learning about and keeping bees, and I still have a keen interest in bees/beekeeping. I offer day trips around Edinburgh and the surrounding Areas such as St Andrews and Stirling and multi day tours visiting the Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands. I am new to ToursByLocals and can't wait to start showing off the best Scotland has to offer. 10 years Touring Experience ( Scotland, Europe and New Zealand) Member of Historic Scotland Bachelor of Commerce (Management/Economics) Trained first Aider D + D1 license (can drive any passangers carrying vehicle from a car to a 60 seat coach) While the United Kingdom has no laws concerning who can and cannot be a guide, guiding at historical sites and monuments is typically restricted to officially accredited guides.
