Hello, my name is Sarah, I am a qualified Blue Badge tour guide in English and Italian, part of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association. My main passions are history, human beings and storytelling, that is why I became a tour guide. Being empathetic is a fundamental skill when working with people, that is why my tours are different according to the age, nationality, and needs of my customers. Delivering tours, for me, means also to have a good time and my enjoyment is infectious! Edinburgh is a vibrant jewel immersed in history and culture and it will be my pleasure to share it with you. My fortes are completely customised walking tours: from 3 hours to all day or days, I take people around and make them discover this marvellous city, through my eyes. All my tours can be customised to meet your personal interests and needs. Enjoy a short walking tour of the top of the Royal Mile and a private introductory tour of the most magnificent past Royal residence of the City of Edinburgh. We will start either at your hotel, if in the city center, or in front of the National Library of Scotland and walk up to the very top of the Royal Mile, to reach the Esplanade. We will then enter the fascinating Edinburgh Castle (made of a complex of several buildings) which has a vital place in the history of Scotland, with tales of royals, sieges, and murders. We will stop in a few spots, during which I'll help you discover the most fascinating stories behind those enchanting buildings with an intriguing and bloody past. The tour will end inside the Castle, in Crown Square. Please note, due to Castle regulations, guiding inside Edinburgh Castle is only allowed in external areas. After our tour, you will view the interior of the buildings on your own (guides cannot accompany customers inside the buildings)
George IV Bridge, Lawnmarket, Castlehill. The Esplanade and visit to Edinburgh Castle: Portcullis gate, Lang stairs, Castle timeline, Argyle battery, One o'clock gun, Foog's Gate, area around St. Margaret's Chapel, Crown Square (surrounded by Queen Ann's building, the National War Memorial, the Great Hall, and the Royal Palace). Please note, due to Castle regulations, guiding inside Edinburgh Castle is only allowed in external areas. After our tour, you will have time to view the interior of the buildings on your own.
