Enjoy a short walking tour of the top of the Royal Mile and a private introductory tour of the most magnificent past Royal residence of the City of Edinburgh. We will start either at your hotel, if in the city center, or in front of the National Library of Scotland and walk up to the very top of the Royal Mile, to reach the Esplanade. We will then enter the fascinating Edinburgh Castle (made of a complex of several buildings) which has a vital place in the history of Scotland, with tales of royals, sieges, and murders. We will stop in a few spots, during which I'll help you discover the most fascinating stories behind those enchanting buildings with an intriguing and bloody past. The tour will end inside the Castle, in Crown Square. Please note, due to Castle regulations, guiding inside Edinburgh Castle is only allowed in external areas. After our tour, you will view the interior of the buildings on your own (guides cannot accompany customers inside the buildings)
We thoroughly enjoyed being with Sarah on our private tour. She was so knowledgeable of the history of all the sights we visited and presented the history in such an interesting and informative way. The route to see the Castle was rather steep so she took great care in the choosing the route and walking pace to accommodate us "Senior Citizens". I highly recommend Sarah to be your Guide for a most interesting and enjoyable tour.
We had a great time with Sarah from Italy, we met at the center of the city, walked around visit, cementery, dog statue and finally the castle all with precise explanation. In that short time we had all climates possible... sun, rain, wind... all that make the tour unique!
