Highland Distillery Tour & Tasting – Private Day Tour

Hi, I’m Neil, a private tour guide based in Edinburgh. I was born and brought up in the Edinburgh area and have spent most of my life exploring Scotland. After a 30-year career in the Police Service, I moved into tourism, and 15 years later I’m still doing something I really enjoy – showing visitors around my country. I’ve worked as a tour guide at Glenkinchie Distillery and I’m an accredited Whisky Ambassador, so whisky is a particular interest of mine. I also enjoy Scotland’s history, golf, scenery and, perhaps most of all, sharing the stories behind the places we visit. I don’t believe in rushing people from one attraction to the next. I like to find out what interests you and build the day around that. Whether it’s your first visit to Scotland or you’ve been here before, I can suggest places and routes that suit you. My tours can cover Edinburgh and the surrounding area, or take us much further afield into the Highlands, the islands and other parts of Scotland. I travel in a luxury Mercedes V-Class, which can accommodate up to seven guests, or a BMW 7 Series for smaller groups. I’m also a Police-qualified advanced driver, so you can relax and enjoy the journey while I take care of the driving. I’ve been lucky enough to show people from all over the world around Scotland over the years, and I still enjoy seeing their reaction when they discover somewhere new.
