An All Day Tour of the Highlights of the City - Shore Excursion
Overview of your Edinburgh tour
Enjoy a wonderful day discovering all the highlights that make Edinburgh a UNESCO World Heritage site. After having reached the top of the Royal Mile via transportation, we will visit the fascinating Edinburgh Castle which has a vital place in the history of Scotland with tales of royals, sieges, and murders. We will travel downhill into the heart of the Old Town, visiting the highlights as well as discovering the off-the-beaten-path secrets of the Lawnmarket and the High Street. We will see Edinburgh New Town from one of the high vantage points. Finally, we will end the tour in front of the magnificent Holyrood Palace, a place for many dramatic episodes in the short reign of Mary, Queen of Scots. You will return via private vehicle with a driver to the shore where your ship is docked. If you are "Potterheads", please get in touch and it will be my pleasure to modify the route adding some magical "Harry Potter" spots to our tour.

We had an excellent visit with Sarah. She met us at the dock in Newhaven (along with Paul, our driver) and we drove to the middle of the Royal Mile. We just had a terrific time strolling throughout Edinburgh, both Old and New towns. She's very knowledgeable and personable, and I'd highly recommend Sarah for your group.

We've used several TBL guides over the years and all of them have been excellent. Sarah set a new standard of excellence yesterday. Our ship had to change docking location because of weather...she let us know before the ship did. I asked her if we could stop at Hard Rock Cafe so my wife could buy a pin. When she met us she had already purchased a pin for her. She was incredibly engaging knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great day because of her...despite a driving rain storm. She's the best!
Your Edinburgh tour itinerary
- We will meet at the shore, where your ship is docked. Via private vehicle with a driver, we will go to the center of Edinburgh and will start the tour with a visit to the Castle. - We will continue our walking tour with all the highlights as well as the secrets off the beaten path of Castlehill, Lawnmarket, and High Street. - We will admire and discover the New Town from a great vantage point. - We will go down to Canongate and end the tour in front of the marvelous Palace of Holyroodhouse and its Abbey. This tour is completely customizable, so if you for example prefer to visit Holyrood Palace instead, just let me know and I will rearrange the tour. After our tour, you will have time to view the interior of the buildings on your own. In the Palace, guiding is permitted only in the Forecourt (also in the Abbey and Gardens, when open)

This is walking tour, which includes transportation from the shore where your ship docks, to the centre of Edinburgh and return from the city centre with a modern vehicle with a driver. The car will be available all day, so in case of last minute port changes (in the area) the driver and myself will be able to pick you up and drop you off.
