Full Day Edinburgh City Highlight with a Mix of Driving and Walking
Overview of your Edinburgh tour
Edinburgh is my capital city which is both vibrant and steeped in history. My father was born here and I have spent many days exploring and enjoying both its culture and history. On this tour we will visit some of the famous locations and also get the chance to discover how the city was developed across 2 very distinct periods in time. There are so many buildings of interest from the famous castle located on an ancient Neolithic dwelling to the modern Scottish Parliament buildings with so much history and stories of ghosts and revolutions in between. You may choose to head a little out of the city where you can discover the mysteries of Roslyn Chapel made famous by Dan Browns "Da-Vinci Code" or the splendour of the Royal Yacht Britannia. I look forward to sharing some of the stories of this fantastic city and sharing some of its less well known secrets.
Your Edinburgh tour itinerary
- From our pick up point we will head straight into the city centre to get fantastic panoramic views of the entire city from the top of Calton hill. - We will park near the palace of Holyrood House (the Kings residence in Edinburgh) and walk up the Royal Mile towards the castle. After walking up the mile you will have free time to explore on your own and have lunch. When we get to the castle you can chose to go in or just take photos from the top. Pre-booking tickets for the castle is essential if you want to go inside. This is not included in the tour price. - You will be picked up at a defined location at a set time to continue with a driving tour of the many attractions around the city including the grass market and the new town. - Back to our original pick up point.
