Ancient Royal Kingdom of Fife

Hotel pick up with brief driving tour of Old Town and Newtown World Heritage Sites. This tour is a romp through Scottish history with some beautiful ancient places often used as film locations including Outlander series. I will take you through many fascinating secrets sometimes hidden in plain sight. Drive to picturesque historic town of South Queensferry with three bridges including Forth Rail Bridge another WHS. Along coast to Hopetoun House to visit a magnificent stately home. Drive over new Queensferry Crossing to ancient Burgh of Culross. Beautiful place frozen in time with over 1, 500 years of history with early Abbey, early coal mines and infamous witches prison, but bypassed by the Industrial revolution. On to old Burgh of Dumfermline with medieval Abbey and Cathedral the burying place of Scottish Royalty including Robert The Bruce and Saint Margret. Back to Edinburgh possibly via Aberdour Castle with lovely garden and chapel if time permits
