What an amazing tour of Scotland was provided by our guide and driver, Ally Beaton! He is an extremely safe driver and always knew the most efficient route to reach our destinations. His drop-offs and pickups were in convenient spots. The van was very comfortable and clean. We saw all the sights which we had requested. Ally is thoroughly knowledgeable about all aspects of his country- history, geography, plant and animal life, etc, etc, and we learned so much about Scotland! He even included some trivia, such as what famous entertainer was born in a house we rode by. This was not a tour without humor- Oh no, for Ally is quite the entertainer and kept us all amused on the ride (and he even wore his kilt.) Overview of your Edinburgh tour
My favourite Journey, North and through the Highlands to the magical and misty island of Skye, famous for its wild coastal scenery. Our days include photo stops at stunning areas like, Glen Coe, Rannoch Moor, The Cairngorms and Mountain Range. We will also visit sites like Eilean Donan Castle, go on hikes to Neist Point, the most westerly point on the Isle of Skye, every day is a full day tours exploring and experiencing Scotland. Our first two nights are in the picturesque harbour town of Portree. From Skye we will travel towards, the famous Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle for a wee bit of Nessie spotting, take in Culloden Battlefield of 1746 and the wonderful 3500year old Clava Cairns. Then its off to your accommodation in Inverness for the night. In the morning, we shall make our way south towards Pitlochry, with stops at the Highland life museum, Eddradour Distillery. overnight in Pitlochry. Once we leave Pitlochry behind, its off to St Andrews and Falkland before we return to Edinburgh.

We spent 6 fabulous days touring Scotland, and couldn't have asked for a better guide! Ally took us to the highlights, as well as to some off the beaten path places. His choices and pacing of each day allowed us (six seniors ) to do so much! We all recommend touring with him, and would definitely do it again!
We were a family group of 8 on a five day tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Ally. He was very informative, had deep knowledge of local attractions as well as historical sites. He was a real joy to be with and took us to most major attractions and to many sites that most tourists could not get to.
Your Edinburgh tour itinerary
Day 1 We will depart Edinburgh and travel North and West taking in, the views of Stirling Castle, Glen Coe, The Great Glen, Glenfinnan Viaduct, and then by ferry, onto Skye, for your 2 nights accommodation. Day 2 A magical day awaits as we will travel the Jurassic coastline of Trotternish, taking in, the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, then onto the Quiraing, before we travel out to the stunning Neist Point, 2nd night in Portree Day 3 We depart Skye, and travel towards Inverness, where we will arrive before we arrive at, Eilean Donan Castle, Loch Ness & Urquhart Castle(foundation stones date back 700yrs). before we arrive at your accommodation for the night. Day 4 We travel south towards the Highland Perthshire village of Pitlochry, visiting Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns, taking in the Cairngorm Mountains, Eddradour Distillery, and onto your accommodation. Day 5 We leave the Highlands behind us, travelling towards St Andrews, Falkland and the Neuk of Fife, before we arrive back in Edinburgh.
