Hi! I'm Silvia. I grew up walking between masterpieces and I consider myself sensitive with art as my mom is an official art restorer at the Royal Palace and Prado Museum! I admire people full of knowledge who can speak about anything so I try to study a bit every day to become one of those people. Since I was little I wanted to become a guide so I started my career pretty soon, I have a degree in Art History (it takes 5 years in Spain) and I continue studying history of Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and other places reading books about it. I learned 6 languages, although I prefer to tour in english because I believe having a broad vocabulary is really important. I guarantee I'll take you to visit all the sites with the feeling of having a local friend who makes sure that your stay is full of pleasant surprises, because empathy is my best skill . We will talk about hidden treasures and rarely-told stories that blend with the city must sees. I will offer you a mix of all tours, mystery, history, art, legends, literature, . . . . With this activity im going to show a hidden gem of Spain. Did you know that bulls are the guardians of the most extensive ecosystem in Spain? The fighting bull is born and raised in the countryside, in the Dehesa (Pasture). The pasture is a large dryland estate with abundant grasslands and trees, generally holm oaks, oaks, and ash trees. In fact, in the pasture we are going to visit, we find holm oaks that are among the oldest in the Community of Madrid. Pasture forms a landscape of 3 million hectares in Spain, compared to the 2. 4 million hectares of olive trees. These are protected spaces where tree felling is not allowed. The Spanish pasture is an agrosilvopastoral system with a unique ecosystem and biodiversity in the world, characterized by the abundance of grazing land.
Your Madrid tour itinerary
We will walk in the private property of a high class family of Madrid, where we can see how Bulls are raised and find other livestock species such as sheeps, Spanish horses, and oxen. In the property, we will enjoy seasonal products, allowing us to prepare delicious local dishes. We will harvest the produce and move to the kitchen to see how it is prepared. The experience concludes with the preparation of traditional menú and enjoying it in the garden. This family is well known because of gastronomy awards. ¡We know you will never forget it! All of this with a 360-degree view of the El Escorial valley.
