Hola! My name is Carmen M, I was born and raised in Madrid and I am working as a guide since 2003 (I do not even want to think how long this is!) I got my license as Oficial Guide of Madrid in 2017. I started working as a guide when I was in college, I am a licensed Architect so I always loved art, culture. . . and as you will see also love talking to people, food, nature, so even before I finished my studies I knew what I wanted to do when I get older, and this was to show people around not only the big monuments or masterpieces but also those special details that makes our city Madrid and the ones around so special. No matter how many times I visit those places I am always fascitated. My first contact with the world of tourism was as a Tour Director, I traveled to many places all over the world, and I always loved the local guides who were explaining about their cities, and I even although I love traveling and meeting new places after some years doing that job I decided I wanted to stay closer to family, friends. . . and show my own world to the people visiting us. Madrid has so much to offer you should think about staying longer (no matter how long you plan to stay)! I also enjoy Nature very much, specially the mountains, great views, silence, fresh air. . . and we are lucky Madrid is a very green city and with beautiful Natural Parks very close to the center. Madrid is an overwhelming city, so many places to visit, neighborhoods to explore, museums to discover. . . , if you dont want to miss the essential monuments of the city and the most fascinating corners this is the perfect tour. Together we will stroll through the different historical areas, from the oldest spot where the city was founded to the Bourbon area that is nowadays the cultural heart of the city. All my tours are completely customizable, so we can discuss before if you want to go inside any of the museums, Royal Palace. . . , or any other monument you are interested.
Carmen was excellent. She was answering my every question up to the day of the tour. She was very flexible and worked with our schedule. This was a great tour for us because our time in Madrid was limited and because of Carmen we all felt like we didn’t miss a thing.

We had a blast with Carmen! She is super knowledgeable and extremely nice. We were a family group of 11 people and she customizes it based on we asked and on our age group, we had teenagers all the way to seniors. We walked at our pace and got to know Madrid how the locals live. We were super happy with her and would ask for her again if we come back.
An amazing tour with Carmen. Her English and knowledge of history was amazing. You must have her take you through the Prado as you will never have a greater expert. We loved walking the streets with her learning about the many layers to Madrid. Highly recommend

Depending where you are staying we can adapt the itinerary but my suggestion is to move chronologically so you understand the history of this city, that is is very unique if you compare with other cities in Spain. Founded in the 9th century by the Muslims and getting little by little more importance until it became what it is today, the capital of the country and the biggest and most important city in Spain. -Arab Walls, the only remains we have of this period -Oriente Square, the origins of the city -Royal Palace, the biggest Royal Palace in Western Europe -Almudena Cathedral, consecrated just in 1993 -Plaza de la Villa, the oldest Town Hall square, charmming little square in the Habsburg area -The Habsburgs quarter, narrow streets, local markets. . . - Plaza Mayor, where everything happened in the past -Puerta del Sol, where everything happens nowadays -Gran Via, our own Broadway -Plaza de Cibeles -Paseo del Prado The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do no hesitate to contact me !
