The tour starts at your hotel or apartment from there we will take the car to go to Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, known as the city of Cava (sparkling wine). 80% of the production in Spain is done here, where will visit Freixenet cellar (of you wish to go to other cellars it can be done), specialized in Cava, includes audiovisual history of the cellar, the cava making, we will be visiting the different caves by walk and cava tasting (two glasses). On the way to Montserrat, we will have a stop for lunch at a restaurant farm to table on the lower part of the mountain with a great scenery that depicts its name. Finished lunch we will have an outstanding drive through the mountain seeing in a clear day the outline of the Pirineus and the spectacular Montserrat's mountain walls. Once we reach the religious retreat we will walk to visit the Monastery of Montserrat and the Basílica. On the way we will also pass by a flea market with local cheese, honey, fig cake, etc. Back to Barcelona.
My day with Francisco was exceptional from start to finish and my itinerary was fully customized. We enjoyed wine tasting in Penedés, followed by an incredible multi course lunch, and then a beautiful visit to Montserrat. It was a full 8 hour day trip from Barcelona. The best part was he captured the most fabulous photos of the experience. It was like having my own tour guide and professional photographer, definitely a bonus!
Francisco was great to work with very knowledgeable in fact we spent 10 hours with him on our tour. Took us to see an old castle which was a little bit uneventful (choose chocolate store instead) but toured a great winery and it was like almost being on the TV show Cheers where everyone knew his name, a local farm to table food establishment and then almost every historical piece of information you could ever want to know about Montserrat. The history was unbelievable.On time couldn’t have been nicer saw a lot but was never in a hurry. I recommend!!👍👍
This was a great tour, and I highly recommend Francisco. I considered several tour guides and thought that Francisco was the best option. Also, he provided us some nice photos to remember our trip (much better than the photos that we took ;-) ). Francisco is clearly a pro and knows the sites that we visited very well by keeping us away from Montserrat at peak times, so that we have a much more peaceful experience.
This was our second tour with Francisco and again it was incredible. Francisco did all the planning, including booking a minibus for our party of 8. We traveled via luxury minibus, and our driver was also fantastic, to a cava winery, a delicious farm to table lunch spot and finished at Montserrat! We even had time to pop into a local chocolate shop. The whole day was amazing! Francisco narrated most of the tour, giving us some history and current facts. Not only did we have an amazing experience we learned a lot about the region. I would also highly recommend this tour. The bonus of working with Francisco is he is also a photographer and gets some great group photos throughout the tour! Thanks Francisco!
We had a wonderful time with Francisco! He was timely and very knowledgeable about the region. His lunch suggestion was great and allowed us to learn about unique cuisine of the region. I would recommend Francisco as a guide if you come to Barcelona
