First time in Barcelona and you don't want to miss anything? To split the tour in two days is the best; if it is not possible, let's do it in a row stopping for lunch in a typical tapas restaurant. Let's make two blocks (4 hours each) • OLD TOWN: a walk to taste 2000 years of history. Let's discover the Gothic Quarter, La Rambla, Food Market, Cathedral, Roman Temple, etc. A little break is always essential to taste a "Suïs" a delicious hot chocolate with cream and churros in a historic place. • NEW TOWN: includes the fancy Passeig de Gràcia with the most impressive bourgeoise houses such as Casa Batlló and la Pedrera; and of course, Gaudi's masterpieces: Sagrada Familia and Park Güell. If you choose the chauffeured vehicle per 4 hours option, then add to the listed places a panoramic tour where you will admire the views of Barcelona from the Montjuïc Hill, you will see the Olympic facilities and we will pass by the Arch of Triumph gateway of the Art Nouveau Architecture in Barcelona.
Francesc was an amazing guide in Barcelona! We were able to see all the sights and he took wonderful care of us throughout the day. I especially enjoyed his explanation and guidance through the Sagrada De Familia! Also, our visit to Park Guell was so amazing! Visit with Francesc and you will not be disappointed!! The tour was great! Francesc treated me like family and showed me the best parts of Barcelona in the 8 hours we had. The house of Mr. Guell was my favorite and I suggest others to see the opulence of the wealthy aristocrat. Gauldi outdid himself in the design and no expense was spared in the building of this private home. The rooftop chimneys are a grand statement as only Gauldi could express. Each of the chiminies is a work of art, as is the middle spire with the lucky bat 🦇 on top! The old town has a lot to explore.
Wonderful Guide! Francesc was so knowledgeable about the history of the city. He kept our whole group engaged (including 5 kids). He came up with a great itinerary, secured transportation, and recommended restaurants and activities for the rest of our trip. 10/10 recommend him.
We highly recommend Tours by Locals as THE way to go when visiting a city, especially if your time is limited. Skip the Cruise Line's Shore Excursion since the cost is about the same, but tailored specifically for you. Having one guide per party who knows exactly which sites to visit and how to access them without waiting in line, which sites to avoid, recommendations for hotels, restaurants, shops, and how to avoid tourist traps makes for an exceptionally great experience. In our case, we packed 2 half day tours into one day as that was our timeline. Francesc Garcia Juan is very knowledgeable about everything Barcelona. It's clear he has a deep pride for his city and its history. Francesc is an excellent communicator both in prior online discussions and in person. We had a wonderful time exploring Barcelona with him as our guide.
What an awesome day spent with Francesc exploring all of the top sites in Barcelona. We learned so much about the region and the many sites we visited. So many beautiful structures and places. Francesc had even booked in advance a great local restaurant to try out some tapas and it was great. We covered a lot of ground in a day but never felt rushed. Francesc is a great guide and highly knowledgeable and we recommend him highly. It was a perfect day with Francesc. To make the most of our time, I recommend meeting in front of the Batlló House, a famous building of Gaudí at Passeig de Gracia, 43 Barcelona. However, I’ll also be happy to pick you up at your hotel or apartment if you prefer. At the airport or at the cruise ship terminal are also options if you contract the chauffeured vehicle.
