Overview of your Barcelona tour
Years ago I joined "Amics de Montserrat" (Friends of Montserrat), an association to rise money to preserve the Boys Choir, the Basilica, the library and scriptorium. Montserrat is also a Natural Park a multi-peaked mountain shaped by the wind and rain giving this characteristic morphology that we can hike. Many questions will arise: why is the Virgin Black? Why the monks decided to build a Monastery up here?, How many monks leaves here? Why Napoleon troops came here? What were the Nazis looking for here? All this questions and more I will be delighted to explain to you. Montserrat is the sum of wills that through spirituality, music, culture and nature promote a society based on peace, respect, brotherhood and harmony. Apart of my service as your locals tour guide, the tour includes a set of photos of you and your group as a keepsake.
Your Barcelona tour itinerary
-Montserrat is about one hour drive, on the way we will see all the towns on Barcelona's outskirts. -Drive from the back to the front through all the National Park to see a great scenery drive with a glass roof car to not miss a thing. -At our arrival at the Monastery of Montserrat, we walk to one of the best bird point views of the region about 750 meter (3000 ft) high from the seaside level and and overall look of the area. -Then we can visit the Monastery, where we can visit the remains of old claustre from the XV century. And then to see the Basilica and the Atrium. -On the return to the car we will pass flea market where you can sample local food like cheese, liquors, fig cakes, honey, membrillo (Quince), etc. Note: This is an over view of Montserrat religious retreat and National Park.
