SHALOM Barcelona had one of the most important Jewish communities in Europe. Its relationship with the city was of great importance to the city's history, but its relationship with the Christians was always tense. The 1391 events made them begin their exile, and with the Inquisition they disappeared entirely. While we walk around their old Quarter, called "Call", we will discover their customs, why they weren't understood and what happened in 1391. We will see what were once their houses, some of them with the mezuzah mark on the door, the purification baths, the recently discovered Major Synagogue, the biggest of the 5 synagogues that the city had, and the Call Interpretation Centre (where they study everything to do with the Jewish people in Barcelona).
Francesc's passion and knowledge really brings history to life, making this tour a great pick for history buffs and anyone curious about Jewish heritage. Definitely worth it if you want to explore an important but often overlooked side of Barcelona’s past!
We had a very well planned and interesting tour with Francesc. It was our fourth visit to Barcelona, but the first where we learned about the history of the city and how it developed and grew. Francesc shared lots of maps with us on his iPad. He was a wealth of information. We had asked for a tour of Judaic Barcelona and Sagrada Familia and we enjoyed every minute.

Francesc was phenomenal and passionate about the places we visited with him. He had extensive knowledge and shared it with us. Our tour of Park Guell and the Jewish quarter with Francesc was great and we highly recommend his tour.
Francesc was an excellent guide who took us on a tour of the Jewish quarter. He kept the pace slowly enough for us (in our late 70s) to keep up. His knowledge of the Jewish experience in Spain seemed quite complete and communication was not an issue for us (who only understand and speak English). I would gladly recommend him as a guide for anyone who wants to explore this aspect of Barcelona history
Our entire visit is concentrated in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. - the old jewish Quarter (el "Call"), where the old jewish community was settled. - the Major Synagogue: the oldest one in Europe.
