Olá Tiago here. I'm a local guide, born and bred in Madeira and I offer unique jeep and walking tours around the island. I felt in love by nature around my 20's when I was camping, walking, barbecuing on a regular basis, so it became clear what I wanted to do for the rest of my life: to be outside, exploring and sharing the magnificent beauty of the place where I was born. At the age of 21 I flew to Azores archipelago to follow my passion and took my degree in Tourism and Heritage. Concluded in 2014, I came back to Madeira and had a very positive experience doing jeep tours for 2 years. But the university bug was teasing me to travel a bit more and I ended up going to Iceland for two years. There, I learned a new skill. Cooking. I've shared kitchen with Michelin star chefs as well as working in Michelin guide restaurants. It was a wonderful experience but imagine a madeiran, used to shorts and flip flops, in the artic circle? Yes, you guessed it right, I couldn't handle the low temperatures and was missing my uncle Sun! =) Missing my dear island as well as the regular days (6 months day, 6 months night just killed me), I flew back in 2019, craving to be back in tourism, with the will to give back to this amazing place. You might look at Madeira thinking that it's a small easy to explore island . You couldn't be more wrong. Endless things to try, to do, to see. It's hard to admit but even I don't know all of what the island has to offer. I think that's positive and motivational, there will be always a place or and activity to discover. With great travel, comes great responsibility and I couldn't agree more. As a nature ambassador, I truly believe in tourism sustainability, so on every tour that I offer, I always try to include some sort of green activity. As soon as we meet, you'll quickly realize how much love I have for this paradisiac and unique place. With no further delay, take a look at the available tours and choose the one that suits you. If you can't find one, there's always the chance of building your own. Count on me for whatever you need. Is this your first time in Madeira? Are you short in time or don't want to spend a full day outside but fancy getting a brief, yet intensive experience? Do you consider yourself to be an eco friendly person? If you answered most of the questions with a smiling "YES", then this trip is for you! This is a short but immersive tour with a rich introduction about Madeira Island, beautiful views of the capital city and the surrounding mountains, a pleasantly easy walk and a chance to plant a tree. Yey!! "Plant a tree, have a child and write a book", so they say, as well as "Mi casa es tu casa, mis roots son tus roots". This activity is of course optional and depending on the weather conditions of the day but with great love and respect, we can even do it for you. 1 client = 1 tree. There are endless reasons to choose this tour: short, flexible, resourceful, educational, flush, sustainable and fun. Make the most out of your time in my beautiful island!
-After the pick up from your specified location, we'll escape from the city and start our way up to the mountains. -After some entertaining shortcuts, our first stop will be at Funchal Ecologic Park. Here, we will have the chance of doing a short and easy scenic walk (20 mins) which by the end of, would find ourselves at a viewpoint looking over the capital, at 1130 meters high. -On the way back, we'll do a short stop to grab a tree and plant it so you can grow your own roots on the island. -Next, we will visit Pico do Areeiro, highest peak that we can reach by car (1818 mts). Prepare yourself (and the camera) for astonishing views! -Once you're happy with the pictures you took, we'll start our slow descend back to the city, visiting beautiful viewpoints like, Miradouro do Paredão, Eira do Serrado and Pico dos Barcelos, with some hidden gems here and there. -After arriving to the city for the end of the tour, you'll surely want to go back! This tour is highly flexible and can be tailored to your needs.

For this tour i'll be using "The White Pearl", a white Land Rover Discovery 2.5 Tdi from 1994 that i maintain with my heart. It has 5 doors and 6 seats available. I would describe it as a living room with wheels.
