Hi, my name is Valdemar, a 45 years old Madeira island native. I was born in the capital Funchal but my roots are in the west and east of the island, where my grandparents are from. For 16 years I have worked in a store. Getting in contact with people, knowing their stories, was the best part of it and enriched and gave me social skills. In my free time, this island was my breakout. 10 years ago my breakout became a full-time occupation and I swapped a store for an outdoor office and started delivering tours. First with sidecar motorcycles, then minibus and jeeps, as a freelancer guide and since then, my passion for this island got bigger. The satisfaction and smiling faces of my guests were the cherries on top. Right away I felt this was what I was meant to be doing with my life. I feel blessed and very lucky to be able to do what I love for a living. Overview of your Funchal tour
This private tour will reveal an unexpected surprise. This island is a well-kept secret, I believe it is the most unknown and undiscovered European resort, and very popular with this archipelago's inhabitants, mainly the Madeirans. Madeira and Porto Santo island complement each other. One is luxurious green and hilly, the other golden and flat with a 9 km long yellow sand beach, surrounded by countless shades of blue. Amongst locals, we say in a joke that the only thing missing from this island is a bridge connecting them. On this tour, we will discover all the spots you shouldn't miss. Adding to this, we will get to know the history and curiosities, drink and eat what is typical, walk on the beach, hike, and of course, swim in the turquoise blue Atlantic waters, and a lot more. For a small island, Porto Santo has a lot of history, where themes like Sugar Cane, Christopher Columbus, Piracy, Wine, and dragon blood will get together!
Your Funchal tour itinerary
The itinerary can be adapted and in 2 days we have time to explore the whole island without rushing. Depending on the weather, we will start this tour in Calheta, the southwest end of the island, -Then driving offroad we will visit Moreno's sightseeing point, Zimbralinhos beach, Ana Ferreira peak vulcanic formations, a wine cellar where you will taste Porto Santo's wine, beautiful dunes, and sand formations, Castelo peak, the island highest mountain, heading to the east, Fonte da Areia sightseeing point, Salemas bay natural swimming pools (only possible in the low tide), Porto dos Frades beach, Portela sightseeing point with the typical windmills -We will get back to the main village, Vila Baleira, visiting Christopher Columbus's house. We can include in the tours a lunch or dinner barbecue in the west of the island (Morenos), sunset/sunrise, horseback riding, stand-up paddle or kayaking, and scuba diving. All our stops can then be customized according to your expectations and needs.

I reserve the right to use the car according to the availability due to maintenance or weather conditions informing guests beforehand.
