During this tour, I will showcase the beauty of the Northwest side of our beautiful island. By exploring our local villages, old roads, and telling stories about old times, you will gain a perspective on how our people used to and still live with their culture and traditions to this day. You will also notice our Century old trees in Fanal, having stories and memories that no man can tell, where the colour green is always with you. Waterfalls will be something that you will see very often along the roads from Porto Moniz to So Vicente. Beautiful and natural sights of water falling down through rocks and cliffs. The Água D'alto waterfall is the final one in the area, offering us a chance to appreciate its natural beauty and simplicity, as well as take in the breathtaking view of São Vicente and Ponta Delgada. This tour will consist of many interesting, diverse, and unique environments and landscapes in general.
Edgar is a wonderful tour guide. He took my sister and I on an incredible tour of Maderia, and we would return again in a heartbeat! The scenery is spectacular, and I loved being away from the crowds we brought with our cruise ship! I really enjoyed driving the roads past all the small family gardens and farms that supply much of the island food. Edgar is personable and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to spend the day with him, learning about his family and island life!
This was the highlight of our trip to Portugal . Edger is so proud of his island and love to show it off. He was so wonderful on our 8 hour tour that we booked him for a second day. What a spectacular way to enjoy the Island. Any review must begin with the tour guide and Edgar S. Was a fantastic host. His knowledge of the island was very strong and his interaction was perfectly tuned to our needs and desires. His knowledge of the various plants and crops was top notch. We toured the west end of the Island leaving Funchal and traveling along the coast and then up over the island to Porto Muniz. Edgar made this day perfect as we visited such a beautiful island
Edgar was outstanding. He adapted the tour to our needs, since my wife and I have locomotion issues. His knowledge of his native Madeira island is impressive. Highly recommendable guide.
-After leaving Funchal we reach the glass platform, our initial stop at Cabo Girão. -We will continue to Ponta do Sol bay, and after enjoying the sea and coastal views, we will start our journey from sea level to the mountain at 1400 meters through a unique off-road route. - To reach the desired century-old trees in Fanal forest, we will use the plateau as our route. Fanal is surrounded by fog almost every day, which is a magical sight and always adds a unique touch. - We continue our tour to a breathtaking viewpoint of the northwest coast after leaving that fascinating place. - The rock formation we will come across on our way to Porto Moniz. Porto Moniz has a variety of options to choose from, with swimming in the natural lava pools being the most popular activity. - Following our visit to that magnificent place, we will be heading to Seixal to see the beautiful and unique black sand beach. We'll see numerous waterfalls from there until we reach São Vicente, where we'll make our final stop.
