Hello, welcome to the Island of madeira. A little Paradise in the middle of the Atlantic that I luckily call home, that is also rich in costumes, tradition and heritage. My name is Antonio, I was born and raised in Madeira Island. I live a city life, but have connections with the island's rural life, where my free time was spent listening to stories from older people and what it was like in their time, having the perspective of how their lives were. I was abroad for a few years in Venezuela, The UK and lastly Italy. But I always returned to the island. Last time that I returned, I needed to reinvent myself to escape from my normal life. It all began gathering friends and going on adventures in a little 4x4, discovering the island truly from a different perspective. From then on, it was the beginning of my dream job. My Land Rover Discovery is my office. Using this car we can reach narrow roads and off-road tracks to find hidden places and fauna. Let me take you with me and share the best of our island. Overview of your Funchal tour
Join me to visit Pico Ariero, we will find a spot and get comfortable for when sunrise begins. We will see pure magic happening right in front of us, above the clouds, and Mother Nature will greet us with a display of her splendor. Shades of orange and purple shine through the blue sky and reflect on the clouds below us. Little by little, it is possible to find the sea and also the green mountains emerging before our eyes. We will spend around 30 minutes enjoying the sunrise and taking photographs in the area. We will also go to the highest part to admire the cliffs and valleys and the plateau on the opposite side. We will descend to do the lovely Levada of Balcoes, where you will have a relaxing walk that will allow you to enjoy the native fauna and finally, the balcony view to the mountain. Your Funchal tour itinerary
1-Pick up at your accommodation. 2- We will reach Pico Arieiro in 45 minutes and start the climb to the two highest points Pico do Prieiro 1818mt (5964FT). I suggest you should bring warm clothes to be protected and cozy seeing the sunrise. 2- We will descend to Ribeiro Frio, to the small levada walk about 45min 870 mt (2854FT). The length of the levada until the meeting point is a total of 2. 2km. 1. 5 km is to reach the balcony and 700 mt to return to the meeting point where there are some stairs to reach the main road, comfortable footwear is suggested at all times. 3- Return to your accommodation * Itinerary can be customized to suit your preferences.
