Hi, I’m Carlos, an experienced designer turned local guide in Oslo. But I didn’t start guiding to endlessly repeat dates and facts, I did it to actually help travellers feel the city. With a background in UX, service design and storytelling, I design each tour as a human experience: clear, engaging and full of small moments that connect history, culture & daily life. I would even suggest you think of my experiences less as guided tours and more as meaningful walks through Oslo, accompanied by a local who knows how to read people's interests. Why choose me? Because I focus on genuine connections, not scripts. That's why I work exclusively with small groups, adapting my pace and the stories I decide to share, targeted to the people I have in front of me. I strive to mix knowledge with humour, local insight & reflections. After guiding hundreds of travellers from all over the world, I’ve learned that what people remember isn’t just what they see, but how they feel walking through a city. My goal is simple: that Oslo feels less like a destination and more like a shared experience!

Norway is often seen as a peaceful, well-organized country, but have you wondered how it became so? On this tour, my goal is to help you understand Norway from the inside by visiting the Norwegian Folk Museum, where history is not locked behind glass. Wooden houses, churches, shops and everyday spaces tell the story of how Norwegians lived, believed, governed, and made collective choices that still shape society today. Through topics like housing cooperatives, alcohol regulation, minority cultures, religion and wartime memories, we’ll explore how certain traditions slowly transformed into the modern Norwegian state. This experience is not a rushed museum visit or a retelling of a list of dates. It’s a calm, thoughtful walk where past and present connect, offering context, clarity, and a deeper sense of why Norway is the way it is. An ideal plan for curious travellers who enjoy meaningful stories, cultural insight and understanding a place beneath the surface.
-After we've gathered, we'll begin exploring the Old Town of Christiania, where I'll help you understand the historical foundation of everyday life in Norway. -We'll continue to see key buildings that explain how Norwegian society functions, including the OBOS housing model which offers insight into cooperative living, and the Vinmonopolet upon which we'll discuss alcohol regulation & the role of the state. -Following this, we'll visit a Sámi shop & a cultural area introducing Norway’s indigenous people & their place in national identity. -Then in the Finnmark region, I'll address WWII, the Nazi destruction of northern Norway plus how memory and later rebuilding shaped the country. -Before saying our goodbyes, we'll stop by a stave church, connecting spirituality, nature & early beliefs, tying everything together with reflections on Sámi culture, tradition & modern Norwegian values. Our itinerary can be adapted to your main interests.

This is a walking tour inside the Norwegian Folk Museum. The route is relaxed and mostly flat, with some gravel paths and gentle slopes typical of an open-air museum. We'll walk at a comfortable pace, with frequent stops for explanations and rest if needed.
