Hi, I’m Simon! I was born and raised in Oslo, and I’d love to show you around my hometown. I’m in my twenties, and I’m so passionate about the showing this city as the vibrant capital it is. Outside of being a local guide, I work as a freelancer in film production, and I love exploring Oslo’s arts scene. I’m also a very interested in architecture, and find inspiration for my projects in the very diverse districts of the city. In my free time, I enjoy diving into Oslo’s nightlife, where there’s always something exciting happening. I’ve always had a love for storytelling, which is what led me to guiding. As a film enthusiast with a degree in film production, I enjoy showing guests the filming locations of famous Norwegian films and TV shows, while I'm also very well versed in more traditional historical, architectural and lifestyle facts. My tours are designed to offer an insider’s perspective, mixing both history and modern-day Oslo, giving visitors a local's view of the city. Travellers too often explore just the historical city centre, but I’m here to show you why it’s one of the coolest, most vibrant cities around as soon as you visit the surrounding districts too! From the unique blend of classical and modernist architecture to the energy you feel in its bars, museums and local stores, Oslo is a place where every corner offers something special. On my tours, I want you to feel the city’s actual pulse, and I’m happy to take you to hidden gems outside the usual tourist areas. I’d love to help you create a one-of-a-kind, customized experience. Whether you're looking to dive into Oslo’s cultural scene, explore its nightlife, or walk in the footsteps of film history, I’ll make sure your tour reflects what makes this city so unique, and what you enjoy seeing and exploring. Let’s discover Oslo together!

Do you want to explore Oslo as a local, off the beaten path? Are you interested in how norwegian society has evolved through centuries, but also want to feel the beat of a vibrant and diverse capital city? Then this is the tour for you! Most travellers skip eastern Oslo, even though it features both the oldest ruins and most modern skylines of the city! On this four-hour urban hike, we'll explore the ruins of a monastery, old working-class neighbourhoods, botanical gardens, diverse markets and futuristic architectural gems - along with some of the best views of the city. I'll make sure to point out any unique galleries, cafes and sights along the way - as well as answer any question you might have about living or staying in Oslo! So don't be shy, reach out, and become an Oslo local for a day :)
- First, we'll meet at and explore The middle ages park and ruins - We'll then walk through the Old City streets and observe the architecture - We'll arrive at Kampen church and enjoy the viewpoint - We'll then descend and grab a coffee at a specialty cafe and bakery - We'll see the Old Munch museum on our way to the botanical gardens, and enjoy the greenery - We'll enjoy the vibrant grønland square - Then, we'll cross the bridge over to the Modern Barcode skyline - After exploring the district, we'll finish at the Oslo city Opera Do you already have any particular sights you want to explore in mind? In that case, don't be scared to reach out! This tour is fully customisable, and I'll accomodate for any additional stops or changes in the itinerary. As a local, I want you to experience the best this city has to offer!
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
Please note that this is an urban hike, so good footwear is mandatory! We'll always walk along paved roads, but there are about 54 meters of elevation from the lowest to the highest point of the tour, with a few short steep stretches (though these are mostly on our way down). The tour is fully accessible, although wheelchair use might be quite strenuous due to the hilly terrain.
Oslo, Oslo, 0150, Norway
We're meeting at the tram stop Middelalderparken, direction out of the city centre (that's trams 13 and 19 direction Ljabru, if you're arriving with public transport). If you would prefer to start the tour at your hotel or any other point, just shoot me a message! :)
