Hi, I’m Carlos, an experienced designer turned local guide in Oslo. But I didn’t start guiding to endlessly repeat dates and facts, I did it to actually help travellers feel the city. With a background in UX, service design and storytelling, I design each tour as a human experience: clear, engaging and full of small moments that connect history, culture & daily life. I would even suggest you think of my experiences less as guided tours and more as meaningful walks through Oslo, accompanied by a local who knows how to read people's interests. Why choose me? Because I focus on genuine connections, not scripts. That's why I work exclusively with small groups, adapting my pace and the stories I decide to share, targeted to the people I have in front of me. I strive to mix knowledge with humour, local insight & reflections. After guiding hundreds of travellers from all over the world, I’ve learned that what people remember isn’t just what they see, but how they feel walking through a city. My goal is simple: that Oslo feels less like a destination and more like a shared experience!

On this tour, we'll explore the world’s largest sculpture park created by a single artist, through an analysis of the human condition, guided by Gustav Vigeland’s personal life, ideas and artistic vision. Vigeland Park is a manifesto of life carved in stone. As we walk through it, I'll help you identify how key moments, beliefs & inner conflicts of the artist are reflected in the sculptures as well as behind their meanings. Through more than 200 sculptures, the park unfolds the full spectrum of human condition, from birth to death, from love to hate, from connection to solitude. Bodies, gestures and expressions become symbols of life itself, forming a coherent narrative rather than isolated artworks. Our tour will be a calm and conversational experience, leaving space for interpretation, dialogue and reflection. This is neither a lecture nor a checklist, but a meaningful journey through emotions we all recognize. I consider this to be more than a visit, but a contemplation of what it means to be human.
This itinerary follows a clear narrative path through Vigeland Park, where each stop builds meaning and emotional depth: -After we've gathered, we'll step inside the park and first cross the Bridge of Life, a symbolic passage through childhood, relationships, conflict and human connection, setting the emotional tone of the experience. -Next, we'll pass by the Angry Baby, an often misunderstood sculpture that reveals the raw intensity of early human emotion, frustration and vulnerability. -Following this, we'll reach the Fountain & Labyrinth square, which present a central reflection on time, repetition and the human cycle, where movement and stone express life’s recurring patterns. -We'll later come across the Monolith, a silent vertical struggle of more than 100 intertwined bodies, rising as a powerful symbol of ambition, unity, chaos and transcendence. -We'll conclude the tour by the Wheel of Life, having a final reflection on continuity, return and the eternal rhythm of existence.

The standard meeting point is the Main Gate of Vigeland Park (Hovedportalen i Vigelandsanlegget), located on Kirkeveien, at the main entrance of the sculpture park. That being said, I could also meet you directly at your hotel if we arranged it in advance, so please send me a message before booking if you'd like to request this.
