Hello, I’m Neil, a Londoner by birth and an Oslo resident of 30 years’ standing – so its' beginning to feel like a know the place a bit. Traditionally a wearer of many hats – actor, teacher and translator – I'm standing by to don my guiding cap and show you around what really is 'my kind of town'. Whatever the season, Oslo is a great place to visit: There's always lots to see and masses of photo opportunities, from stylish urban reflections to details of frost in the botanical gardens. Couple that with the world-class art and architecture, Viking heritage and unique outdoor experiences, and what's not to like? The tours I run are largely founded on my own enthusiasms and interests, and I love meeting new people from around the world, so whether you want to take in the city-centre highlights, wander silent forests or explore the unique islands with their extraordinary bio-diversity, one thing's for sure: It will be a new experience for both of us! I'm happy to customise tours too, so if there's a special itinerary you'd like to pursue, just let me know and we can work something out together; it will be a pleasure to welcome you. Oslo awaits! Hjertelig velkommen, Neil.

From Viking beginnings to the home of the Nobel Peace Prize and inspiring contemporary art and architecture, Oslo is a city of contrasts - with a fascinating and sometimes bewildering history to match. Iconic Oslo opens windows on the past and present, taking you to the must-see city-centre highlights encircling the head of the fjord. You get all the best bits and answers to the difficult questions: when is a fjord not a fjord; why is there a Frenchman outside the Royal Palace; why Tuesday; and where's the best seafood in town? The tour is readily adaptable if you prefer to meet at your hotel or at your cruise-ship berth and can be customised if there's anything particular you'd like to see which isn't on the regular itinerary. Just get in touch and we can work something out :-)
- Meet at the square right outside the central train station - Everyone's favourite Tiger - The iconic Opera House and Munch Museum; - The 'Kvadraturen' and the Akershus fortress; - City Hall and 'Nail Soup'; - The National Theatre, Karl Johan's Gate and the Royal Palace. - Aker Brygge and Thieves Island The tour may also be extended to visit Norway’s no. 1 tourist attraction – Vigeland Park – which is just a short tram or metro-ride away.
