My name is Judith and I am an Authorized Oslo Guide who would like to show you Norway's capital! I really enjoy showing visitors not only Oslo's highlights - those must sees - but the "off the beaten path" sights as well. I can arrange themed walking tours, tours using public transportation, shore excursions, and also tours which provide private transportation. As an educator for many years in Norway, all of my tours can be personalized to meet any special interests you may have. My background is both American and Norwegian. I came to Norway in the 1970s looking for my roots, which I found, and I fell in love with this country. In 1985, I settled here with my family. Oslo is an exciting, dynamic capital city which I know well but I have also travelled to all corners of this little country - on land and by sea! I am particularly interested in showing Norwegian-Americans the city of Oslo and helping those visitors learn more about the culture and history of not only the capital but of Norway, too. My personal experience growing up as a Norwegian-American, will enable me to help customize tours to those of you wanting to learn more about your heritage. My other tours focus on topics which I am particularly interested in which includes World War II - The Occupation Years and also Jewish History in Norway. Let's stroll through Oslo! My Oslo Walks are 3 1/2-hour private walking tours which will give you an excellent introduction to Oslo, Norway's capital. Let me know your interests and I will plan our route accordingly. You will see some of the city's highlights as we stroll through the central area. Experience Norway's capital on foot at a comfortable pace whle you learn about its history and culture. A walking tour is a great way to spend those first hours in Oslo whether you are well rested or feeling a bit jeg lagged. I can also make a customized tour for you if there are certain things you definitely want to see while in Oslo or would like a longer tour. These tours are 3 1/2-hours long but we will rest our feet as needed, of course! We will not be standing for long periods of time. A nice local experience is a stop at one of the many delightful bakeries along the way.
Judith was just great! We got more information from her tour than all of our other tours combined. She asked us what else we were doing in Oslo and filled in what we were missing and then she had a map for us telling us what to expect at the other locations. Well worth the time and expense!

Judith is a fabulous guide. Though American born she knows Oslo like a native. As a former teacher she knows how to impart historical information in an interesting way. Her restaurant recommendations are spot on. I highly recommend her for anyone looking to learn more about Oslo.

We had a great tour with Judith and highly recommend her. We covered a lot of interesting areas from old to new as her commentary was infused with infectious enthusiasm for Oslo. The walk encompassed important history, modern politics and significant positive changes in the city in the last number of decades. 3 1/2-hour comfortable walking tour in the central area of Oslo. We will see the following along the way: - The Harbor Promenade - Bjørvika - Oslobukta: From the Middle Ages to Modern Day - Opera House, Munch Museum, and public library - Deichmann - Kvadraturen neighborhood - Aker Brygge (wharf) - Nobel Peace Center and National Museum - Akershus Fortress - Oslo City Hall (inside if not closed due to civic functions and time permitting) - Karl Johans gate (main pedestrian street) with its historical buildings: Parliament and the Royal Palace **If you would like to visit the Vigeland Sculpture Park while in Oslo, contact me about a customized tour or choose my Highlights Tour. This park is not in the central area. At the end of our tour together, I will make suggestions of other places you may want to see or museums to visit. We can also plan to end the tour at one of these museums.
