My name is Lene, I'm 59 years old and born in Oslo. I'm educated as an engineer with a degree within economics, and got my diploma as an Authorized Oslo Guide in the year 2000. I have worked with tourists for 26 years now, and my favorite tours are the customized ones. I love to show my city and the sorrundings from all different angles - through history and storytelling, foodtasting, museums and streetart, crime- and ghostwalks, and everything that has to do with nature (walks, hikes and bicycle tours). I'm passionate about my work, and love getting in contact with people from all over the world. I like to tell the history in my way, sharing personal stories from my own life and my parents / grandparents life (I'm the 3.generation from Oslo). Funny or horrible stories are also a part of it, so that you maybe remember something when you come home... :) In Norway you need a professional driver license to drive guests for payment. My tours are either by public transportation, by foot or bike, or we can hire a car with a driver.

Come with me on one of the small ferries that travel between the islands in the Oslo fiord We disembark at Hovedøya and walk together, surrounded by 400 years of history. We'll visit the ruins and hear the exciting stories about the munks and the monastery that once was here. You'll learn about the time when the island was used for quarantine during epidemics, and how it served the Germans during their occupation of Norway under the Second World War. After the tour is finished we return to the city together. In the summertime we can bring food and a bathingsuit, as the area is great for picknicing and swimming It's also possible to turn this tour into a jumping from island to island experience. We'll need more time, 5-6h depending on how many islands we visit. The maximum number we can reach by ferry is five, and it's beautiful to cover it all, because then you see the differences. Three are covered with small cottages and summer houses, and two are totally wild; I really recommend this tour!
* Starting and ending point in the city * Use public transportation (ferry) together with the locals * Experience a typical Norwegian walk in the nature - a very authentic activity in Oslo * Listen to the silence; a more and more rare treasure in our time * Learn about the 400 years of fascinating history of this island * Enjoy the view of the capital, the other islands and the fiord * Optionally we can bring food (f. ex fresh schrimps served in the Norwegian way) and bathing suits to have a picknic here after the walk (only in the summer)
